Had a rift s due to be picked up today but after belatedly realising the IPD would potentially cause many issues I cancelled the order, to be honest I want too bothered as I’d originally wanted the G2 anyway, but seriously, where the hell are they all ? Sold out everywhere and not even able to order when stock becomes available on any website anywhere…anyone have any idea as to when we’re actually going to be able to buy these damned things here ? Uk based if that helps

They’ve been in very short supply since launch. HP have said it’ll be mid February before they start to get the stocked up again. Its a much sought after headset, especially for the flight sim community.
I was holding out for one but after doing a bit of research and reading around I decided to get a Quest 2 and I’m really glad I did. Its £250 less in the UK and I didn’t want to spend all that extra only to find I didn’t like VR in FS2020. I’m still not absolutely sold by VR in the sim so far. I can absolutely see the potential, its potentially amazing, but there is a big down grade in visual quality and so far there’s been a lot of technical issues that need to be ironed out. I’m glad I only spent £400 to find that out and not £650
My idea is that if I grow to really like VR and the performance improves as bugs get fixed then I can always sell my Quest 2 and get a better headset at a later date. I could almost see myself bypassing the G2 and going straight for a Pimax or something in that range.

I suggest doing some research on the Pimax first, especially regarding support for canted screens.

I was one of the lucky ones I guess cuz my order I had placed late but still ended up getting it before Christmas which was a surprise. Wasn’t expecting it until January.
