Reverse Thrust Toggle Broken in TBM post update

Please tag your post with #pc and/or #xbox.

Are you on Steam or Microsoft Store version? MS

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it? NO

Brief description of the issue: Toggle reverse thrust in TBM broken post update. Will not toggle out of reverse thrust. Cannot move the airplane forward.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered: No

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered: Toggled into reverse thrust to test prior to taxi. Will not toggle out of reverse. Have tried remapping to keyboard, different buttons, no joy.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up of relevant: Saitek Throttle Control. Prior to update I had the bottom of the throttle range mapped to toggle reverse throttle. Worked fine. Now post update I cannot move the â– â– â– â–  airplane.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue: The newest one.

tried restarting sim. Still doesn’t work. Even when I got rid of any input for reverse throttle toggle, it still after a min of running had the throttle control moving to reverse. I am so sick of this sim not working.

My bad, I thought you where keyboard. I’m using 2 Saitek Quads mapped for reverse.( 2 engine )

I’ll try mine in little while at let you know what I find.

Are you using custom keyboard mapping?
Even if not,Try:
-keyboard back to default, click save.
-delete any custom mapping sets.
-make new custom if desired.

Make sure xbox logged on. I’d restart msfs too.

Try this?

Yes. This is exactly how I had it mapped and it worked fine. Now it doesn’t work after the update. It won’t go back into “forward” anymore by toggling reverse. It just stays in reverse. On the second attempt after a restart I had NOTHING mapped to reverse and it still toggles and got stuck in reverse mode.

Just did a TBM flight today and it worked just as well as it did before the patch. Try mapping to Throttle 1 axis rather than the general Throttle axis. That’s how I’ve had it setup since I started flying the TBM last month and never had an issue even with it supposed to be bugged prior to this patch

Tested and working for all default a/c that use RT, including the TBM. Set up as this since msfs launch day.

-However I use the button on the bottom of Saitek lever, after the detent and use " Throttle decrease " Placing it here and leaving it there, puts the engine(s) into reverse thrust.
Note that each aircraft has a preset limit to reverse throttle % when using “throttle decrease” and each aircraft is different in that % limit.
It will not go to 100% reverse, which is unrealistic anyways.
Go to external view with hud for a quick peek at this happening ( or watch your gauges )

-Moving lever up and past the detent- it will come out of reverse and back to Idle thrust.

But you seem to be saying reverse is not working at, correct?
Test it:
Keyboard to default>press and hold the throttle decrease key ( don’t remember which one, sorry )
Now try with the custom keyboard, if you have one set.
Results?

As for reverse with out the button in use and having reverse in the lower “range” of the total lever movement, I can’t help there. You may need FSUIPC for that.

Try the throttle decrease method. I’m sure you’ll find it easier and a little more TTL than hunting for that “spot” on lever movement for reverse.

Or try setting the button to toggle as suggested by causual’s link.
To use that method:
Lever past the detent hitting the button>now move the lever forward(up) into reverse.
(up to 100% if memory is correct)
To come out of reverse, back down, past detent to “toggle off” and back up again, past the detent.

Attached is mine, but set up for the times I fly the 747. You could set up all 4 engines separately with 2 quads,

but it’s rare I fly the 47 at all-landing challenge only really…

NOTE: Saitek quad buttons 7,8,9 are the buttons below each levers detent, but not shown in the msfs control picture,

It’s good to know it isn’t wide spread. I’ll mess with it more this evening. How it goes from working flawlessly to broke with no change is beyond me.

had the same issue. I’m using TWCS throttle. I fixed it by unmapping the throttle axis and mapping the TWCS to throttle axis 1 and throttle axis 2 (that way you can control the dual engine aircraft and I imagine you could continue to map the same physical axis to throttles 3 and 4 if you fly 747 for example). Now everything works fine, including the reverse toggle button.

I’ll give that a try. Thanks!

Try/fly the Mugz TBM mod. This issue was fixed with an update hours after the MS/Asobo update. Everything about Mugz’s TBM mod is superior to the stock TBM :+1:

I have a slide button on my HOTAS that when I slide forward it does Hold Throttle Reverse Thrust and when slid back it removes it. I use button 33 slide on the Logitech/Saitek X-56 HOTAS Throttle.

Last night I was flying the TBM and did notice that at times it did take some time to come out of Reverse Thrust even after turning it off. I had to idle and forward several times to get it to go forward.

So I do thing there is some sort of bug the the Reverse Thrust logic of the TBM.

Argh. I don’t know why I didn’t check the update change log. Looks like this happened with the mod at update and is now fixed. I’ll install the improvement update and I’m sure it’ll be good. You are correct on this mod; it’s great and the only plane I fly. Built an entire virtual cockpit for it for VR.

I think this bug is “happening” since two or three updates ago… I am not using reverse for months… Hope they fix it fast… I have read about it before this january update…

Works great with the new TBM improvement mod update. Fixed.

So, after the latest update, the reverse thrust stopped working on the TBM 930. It just stayed in reverse prop and would not come out. Then after reading some of these posts, hoping to find a solution it was mentioned to try the Mugz download. I had already had this on the sim but then found an updated version. First I uninstalled the original one, tried the TBM and things worked as it should🤗.
Then I downloaded the updated version of the Mugz update and again tried the TBM. Worked just fine. So for me it appears as if the original download (February 2021) had somehow conflicted with the airplane after the update. Hope this helps anyone else who may have the same problem.
