I was having a little fly around a certain province in Afghanistan looking for a certain allied operating base. I’ve flown to this previously in the year where the base can clearly be identified from satellite imagery and the runways can be landed on, although it is not an ‘official’ airport as such.
I was flying there again the other day, to find that the area where the camp was located is now a low res texture and wasn’t using sat imagery (It wasn’t the generic terrain fill). Is there any way to revert back to previous satellite imagery where the area can clearly be identified?
I thought they already explained that military installations are excluded from the bing maps satellite imagery. It was for security purposes.
Either that you that you have issues with your internet connection. See if you can do a manual cache of the area using high-resolution/detail settings, see if that fixed your problem.
I imagine that with the drawdown / removal of forces there that these areas would be considered sensitive at this time.
Plenty of other places to fly in a civilian flight sim.
Firstly check that your data is on! I’ve had it turn off on me before and whilst tiles around me were loaded (from the cache probably) the tile of interest didn’t. Turned it back on and there it was…
It would be great for the AI to hang onto older tiles if a tile becomes unusable, especially for the water meshes, or where new tiles have some clouds obscuring it…
Edit: Re-read the issue. Yeah, not much we can do about that one, other than reimporting it and adding it as a scenery from an external source.
