Don’t need a mic, I can assist via text, just easier to help there versus going back and forth here.
OK I am actually at approach to Punta Raisi and will try later after landing. Probably in 30-40 minutes.
I don’t like Step 2 or 5. Any software that requires UAC be disabled should be treated with utmost suspicion. As for step 5, it’s not hard for them to submit samples as false positives. Unless the user is prepared to run the sim via an unprivileged account, without admin rights, you have binaries that you have configured to not be scanned by AV, and configured to allow them to elevate without any safeguards. Not a chance in hell would I allow that.
UAC has been around in one form or another since Vista. It’s not new technology,
OK. Tbh I am not fine with it too. The devs told me, before the communication stopped, that Malwarebytes will solve the problem with the warning with the next update. Now I can start REX AXIS without being asked before.
So UAC is a part of Windows? Since English is not my mother tongue, I am not sure.
I don’t understand the requirement for disabling UAC. I didn’t read that and I’ve installed it and it runs OK. So why?
I have noticed that if I leave the app open, it closes itself after a few minutes. It’s enough time for you to install new files / terrains etc but if you leave the app open it just vanishes. And not into system tray.
How can I find you at Discord? Do I need an invitation link?
Do you reside at Microsoft Flight Simulator official Discord Channel?
When I start the Advanced Edition, I get this pop up bottom right of my screen:

So seems to be a feature if you have the automatic mode turned on
EDIT: And I also didn’t turn off UAC. I think a lot of software instal instructions says this as it probably avoids issues as sometimes UAC doesn’t appear or the window appears hidden, or it just takes some time. Suspect they are just trying to make their lives easier, but you should never need to turn it off.
Great help and THX again. I have to get a mic as soon as possible.
I also didn’t deactivated UAC or did any other configuration on my system. Just install it somewhere, link it to the correct community folder and it will work.
About the 5 minutes to shut down… this is a feature. Before, when you started the old version, a window opened, the files got updated and the window remained open. Now, you start acuseasons, it will do what it needs to do and then automatically shut down again. I like it.
No problem at all, enjoy!
I am experiencing quite heavy tiling with the terrain masks applied. Especially when getting close to the ground around airports. Do others see this as well?
EDIT: After further debugging, it seems to be an MSFS issue. I deleted Accuseason, and it was still happening at Corsica. Apparently, it has to do with different Bing data being loaded. Quite annoying!
Observed the same in Switzerland, tile popping dramatically increased over the last monts, several regions are basically not flyable anymore. But again, MSFS devs remain silent…
I have a general question about the app. Starting is no problem, but I would prefer it it opens like any normal app and not hidden in the tray bar AND how can I stop it shutting down itself after some minutes?
UAC is short for User Account Control. It is a part of Windows Security. It’s function is to help prevent unauthorized software changes.
You can adjust it from ‘Always On’ to ‘Never On,’ with a couple of intermediate levels.
Where can I adjust it?
Oh, that is a misunderstanding. I just wanted to know how to adjust “Rex AccuSeason Adv. Ed.” that it will not shoot down automatically after 5 minutes.
Sorry, can’t help you with that one.
