Welcome to the 189th flight event with Gunpilot and a whole bunch of other like-minded sim pilots in MSFS 2024. If you have just discovered these flight events for the first time, welcome aboard and you will be made to feel very much at home with the rest of the pilots on the flight.
The only request we make is that you arrive on the tarmac in the aircraft designated for the flight, and you join in the banter on the supplied COMMS RADIO which can be found in Gunpilot’s Discord server (click on this link to take you directly to Gunpilot’s server GUNPILOT’s Server ).

This week, we embark on an audacious adventure that tests both skill and courage: ridge soaring from Nice to Genova along the stunning yet treacherous Italian coastline. The skies are less than cooperative, with ominous clouds promising turbulence and uncertainty at every turn. For the first time, we will attempt this daring journey, navigating not only the unpredictable weather but also the constant challenge of maintaining altitude over rugged coastal terrain. Every moment will demand absolute focus and precision, with the looming threat of forced outfield landings adding an edge of peril to the journey. The breathtaking vistas below will offer little comfort as we ride the razor’s edge between triumph and disaster.
As if the main challenge weren’t enough, a series of adrenaline-pumping tasks await us along the route. Aerobatic maneuvers will test our nerve, touch-and-go landings will demand pinpoint accuracy, and bridge shenanigans promise heart-stopping moments of exhilaration. Even pinpoint landing challenges—critical for survival—will become trials of skill and endurance. This isn’t just a flight; it’s a high-stakes odyssey through a labyrinth of danger and opportunity, where every decision counts and every mistake could lead to disaster. The thrill of soaring over the sparkling Mediterranean is undeniable, but so is the weight of the risks, making this an unforgettable leap into the unknown.

Special Note:
You will need to, as a result of flaky MSFS2024, map the 3 primary axis, the gear, the elevator trim and the spoilers for this glider. As well, ensure that your BACK TO FLY mapping works as this is critical in this event
*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link GUNPILOT’s Server ) to be taken there. Extract file into your Community Folder prior to launching your sim for the flight.
