Rift S flashing is back with a vengance

Anyone else getting really bad flashing with the Rift S or any Oculus device again? I did the fix from last time which was get off the beta builds of Oculus software and it worked to fix it (well, “fix it”) but today I tried VR again and man, is it back and with a vengeance this time! I mean really bad flashing to the point it is unplayable. Nothing has changed system or settings wise other than latest MSFS update.

I hadn’t played VR since the last major update so I’m not sure if this is caused by MSFS itself or if we’re back to having issues with Oculus software again, either way it really ruins it.

Yeah I flew a bit in VR on Sunday and the flashing got really bad after a few minutes. Shame really since otherwise performance was a little better than it was at VR launch. I felt like the performance had just crossed into the tolerable category only to be ruined by the flashing.

On a Rift S and Nvidia RTX 2080ti latest stable Oculus runtime and Nvidia drivers.

Nope, all fine here with oculus software on beta program, no more flash for me, things of the past here. Current version I use is 27.0.0.45.507 (27.0.0.45.507). All updated to latest version (NVidia drivers, bios, vbios, etc.). ASW ON and 45fps locked, smooth like butter.

Beta must fix the flashing (again) my version is 26 on standard release channel. Will switch back to the beta channel and try it out.

FYI I was on beta with no problems, then there was an update to a new beta yesterday and I did temporarily have the flashes again (quest 2) - however I seem to have cured them with restarts of PC + headset

I have the CV1 and the flashing was horrible to the point I didn’t want to play MSFS 2020, I am not on the Beta version in Oculus however yesterday I updated my Nvidia drivers before I did my FS Academy flight to record and upload to Youtube, the flashing became almost none existent after the update, I had a couple random when loading in and maybe two during the flight. I have not checked it playing with other aircraft so I can’t speak on that but it worked fine in the 152 with FS academy. The new version number is 465.89, I only updated the graphic driver on a clean install I unchecked the others such as Audio etc. Give it a go and see if that helps if you have an Nvidia card

Re-enabled the beta channel of the Oculus software last night and ver 27 does seem to fix the flashing. But performance seems a bit lower than it was with v.26. Normally I’d have to disable ASW because there would be so much wobbles/tearing but I didn’t need to do that in v.26 but I had to again in v.27.

But that could just have been a fluke good performance the one time I played with v.26.
