River Visual Challenge - KDCA [POSCON]

This Friday we invite you to join us for Friday Night Flights (FNF)! This week (please cooperate winds!), we challenge you to fly the River Visual 19 Approach into Washington National Airport (KDCA). Take your favorite airliner this Friday night (US-New York East Coast Time - EST) into KDCA with an arrival time between 0100z and 0130z (Friday, 9:00-9:30 PM US-EST Time).

The winds are forecast to begin shifting from the southwest to the northwest right around our arrival time, but let’s hope it holds off or is light enough to accommodate this fun and slightly challenging approach!

The goal of FNF is for everyone to fly into a selected airport arriving around a pre-selected time! An arrival time will be posted each week along with the FNF arrival field and your goal is to fly anything you wish from anywhere you chose, arriving as closely as possible to the listed arrival window. If you are in the mood for some low and slow, take out that prop and join us. In the mood for something larger, pull that bizjet out of the hanger and we’ll see you there. Depending on the field size, you can even fly your favorite airliner in.

It’s FRIDAY! TGIF!

There should be plenty of ATC tonight on POSCON for this flight into KDCA! We are all hoping the strong SW winds that are forecast to swing from the NW hold off long enough to allow the River Visual.

Either way should be a fun night on POSCON! I hope we get a quick patch for performance issues and everyone is up and running by this evening!

See you in Washington DC around 9-9:30 EST (0100-0130z)!
