About the event

Winter is all about winter sports, and one of the most famous areas for winter sports is the Colorado Rocky Mountains. With almost 2 dozen nationally famous, and several world famous, ski slopes, these mountains boast a plethora of fun and entertaining sights. But flying among them is no joke, with peaks exceeding 14,000’ navigating the mountains in unpressurized aircraft is a skill all its own. So come join us on a guided tour of some of the most well known ski slopes in the Rockies and the mountain passes that let local pilots navigate to them for weekend getaways.

We’ll have several small high elevation airports to land at and the middle of the trip will be dominated by an extended flight through 3 mountain passes and flybys of several famous Colorado Ski slopes. We’ll end with the spectacular canyon approach to Aspen, and then a quick hop over to the highest elevation airport in the United States, Lake County for some high elevation landing challenges.

Take-off is at 20:00 UTC. The flight time will be about 2.5 hours long and we will make a 10 minute break at KEGE. Please make sure your trim controls are set as this will have an extended section of mountain flying and retrimming as you go will be a must. And as always with Flight Sim Break, Join when you can, leave when you must!

Other Information

Please post event screenshots in the #screenshots channel.
Voice channel highly recommended even if you can’t speak. We tend to have a lot of fun in voice  We also announce breaks and additional info in voice chat and we help you with flying techniques if you have questions.

Flight Plan

Unfortunately, do to limitations in the FS2024 flight planner and flight plan format, the flight plan I have created does not work well in the onboard instruments. I’m attaching the Little Nav Map plan for those who want to fly along.

Thanks for hosting @lassombra8785. I also appreciate whoever helped me learn the workaround to see everyone ij multiplayer. Load in at one minute behind realtime with preset time/weather and don’t use realtime. I was able to enable live weather from drop down once I was in and everyone stayed visible. Hope to hear and see you all again soon

We will definitely be doing more soon.

We host roughly two group flights a month with some in FS2024 and some in FS2020.
