I’ve tried setting mine from 8gb up to 64gb right now. I have plenty of drive space, is there any benefit to increasing this? I don’t see much difference if any changing sizes so far…
Thanks for any advice.

I’m using 350gb for both rolling and manual… but it takes forever to compile so next time it will be less.
As far as difference, I guess the rolling cache is overwriting less the more space you assign to it, so as you fly around it is storing more of the landscape for use later when you return to those areas.
OK I see, thanks.. I may bump it up..
I disabled it since 1.8.3. I don´t see any benefit in it if you can download updated data quite fast. To me it caused more problems than benefits and at the end of the day you can only keep a relative small portion of the globe stored on the cache, so it´s also useless unless you fly in circles around a city every day.
Cheers
Good point..
I reduced it back to default 8 GB size as I noticed my performance severely decreasing after leaving photogrammetry areas. Cache management is pretty bad I suspect. One time I flew past several PG areas until my frame rate tanked all the way down to 2 fps. I tried to quit and the game hang on exit. It was still doing a lot of stuff on my SSD and memory use was also going up and down. After 10 minutes I force quit the game, deleted the rolling cache and set it back to 8 GB, now it works much better.
There is still some performance decrease after leaving PG areas yet not for very long and no more long waits to exit the game. Perhaps disabling it all together is even better…
Yes.. I’ve gone from 0 to 8 to 64 and can’t really see any difference!
