Tried to put this up to 100gb, at the suggestion of squirrel who did 500gb. This has been “processing” for a half hour. Its telling me do not close the app while its doing this. Is it frozen? Seems like its taking way too long.
It is allocating and building a ???HUGE_GB file the size you specified…good luck with that.
100 GB might take half an hour on a SSD, on a HDD it will take forever …
btw more than 100 GB makes no sense at all … it is a ROLLING cache …
I also created a 500 gb rolling cache. Just deleted it as I had my worst performance group flight since flying online. Will see of performance goes back to normal. Note: didn’t have to physically delete any file on the disk. My space was recovered, all by deleting and turning off rolling cache in game.
Interesting. I moved mine from 8GB to 32GB on a1TB NVMe drive. It’s worked fine so far. Didn’t take too long to build, I’d say three-four minutes. On a sata spinner 100GB might be a while…
i use 50GB on SSD M2, takes around 2 min to build, but if you change the size, it takes mutch longer. So maybe close the Sim, delete the file and crate a fresh one.
I think the question should be raised, what is the highest it SHOULD BE, to gain the best performance? After we all know exactly what a rolling cache is and does. I don’t have a clue. Beers on me.

I agree, what should this be set too? I am thinking if its too high, that could affect performance as well. Mine is only set to 8G, but wondering if this is too small.
Set my to 200gb and it took about 10-15 mins
That will take like two hours yes.
I set mine to 1000GB on a 2TB NVME SSD, just to see, when I first installed the sim. It took about 20 minutes to build, and I’ve flown a circuit around the U.S. I don’t see any adverse performance hits–but that’s really hard to say, considering all of the other performance issues…But I’ve been running mostly in the 35-45 FPS range cross-country, but staying away from big cities mostly. Smooth performance, with only a couple CTD’s due to phantom USB disconnects that I reported to Zendesk.
