Got the PC in February with a loan 1050 waiting for the pending arrival of the 3080…
and waiting and waiting…
Offered a 3080ti at MSRP this week (price difference from the 3080) which arrives tomorrow!
I have been using my old 1070ti not the 1050 and coupled with the 5800X it’s pretty reasonable around the 30fps mark.
Will be interesting to see what the 3080ti brings, at least I’m future proofed for the next 3 years I hope…
Still odd that the new release 3080ti has reasonable availablity and no sign of the 3080… maybe on that container ship in the Suez canal!

Quality is excellent and FPS has increased, man this thing puts out some heat though… I’m going to have to investigate new cooling solutions!
Nice! Trying to get my hands on a 3080ti at a reasonable price.

Which RTX 3080 ti are we talking about ? I am just about to buy a RTX 3080 ti and couldn’t decide the brand and model. You may give some details about your card and FPS you get with 100@4K High/ultra settings ?
Kind regards.
With the old 1070ti and 5800X, what settings and resolution did you have? (e.g. 1080p and Ultra, 4K and High, etc.). Was it CPU limited or GPU limited?
I had no choice of product, basically take it or leave it so have an Palit GeForce RTX™ 3080 Ti GameRock OC, it has all sorts of led crystal on the fan side which thankfully is hidden in the case.
Monitor isn’t 4K, may do that later if I think I need to, it is an Samsung LC32JG52QQUXEN 32" Curved Gaming Monitor - WQHD 2560x1440, 144Hz
FPS at Ultra/High End is low 30’s in central London/Paris to around 50-60 in less dense areas. Still experimenting with different options to see how they look/what the impact is.

Resolution as per post above and mostly high settings with clouds on ultra, FPS from low/mid 20’s in dense urban to high 30’s elsewhere, still very usable.
Thanks. Would be very curious what your FPS would be on all settings maxed/Ultra.
Would it make for a better visual experience to max out everything in Ultra and then have the render scale to 75% (effectively 1080p rendering in 1440p monitor)?
The low 30 fps in central london is with the old 1070ti, not the new 3080ti? Please confirm. Thanks.
Ah, I see you mention that it was low 20 fps with the 1070ti. At this point, are you CPU limited with the 3080ti?
I’ve read the Mobile 2080 Super can have better GPU performance than the 1070ti desktop, but the 3080 desktop ti blows away anything mobile.
That’s an interesting thing that’s worth a try too so will have a go over the weekend.
I need to run in developer mode to see what it reports, you would tend to think so though, another one for the weekend (Pub on Friday ).
At this rate I will wait for 40series.3080tis going for well over 200usd but would a huge upgrade over my rtx2060super.
Had my 3080TI a few weeks ago, and its bloomin superb

Are you on 4K ? If so I would be so happy if you can report your perf (after SU5) on 4K ULTRA with your RTX 3080 Ti.
Kind regards
Id go for the 3080 myself, this generations Ti models are not like the 10 series at all, waste of money imo, of course with GPU prices id take a Ti for MSRP if i needed one.
