I know, 8k it’s crazy, requires a lot of GPU, CPU, etc
Right now, I play on 55 inches 4k (RTX 2080 Ti ) which is about 81 ppi, similar with 27 inches full HD
Do you think, I’d have, with RTX 3090, 8k, about the same performance, like I have now with RTX 2080 Ti, 4k ?
Average, 30 fps with almost everything on Ultra
Any advices are welcome, thank you
Sure. If you want to play 8k you are probably just about mental enough to pay for a 3090. That’s why they produce them. But if you’re looking to save some money in the long run - maybe just buy a plane?
Im on a 49" 4k monitor and I cant wait to get the 3080ti, might even get two theyre so cheap! Render scale up to 200 maxed out settings and I should be able to get constant 60FPS anywhere which is what I want. Dont need more than that.
3080Ti hasnt even been announced so IDK how you claim they’re cheap?
Besides, even for ones announced, all we have is the marketing. I’ll wait for actual people to get actual GPUs installed on actual PCs to run MSFS to see.
Lol theyre not going to put out false performance numbers. If its faster it will run MSFS faster. Anyone who think this GPU will make you lose FPS or be stagnant is crazy XD lets be honest here. NVDA isnt that stupid.
Would be unwise to not wait till theres actual benchmarks available by reliable reviewers, most of the official marketing slides were sketchy at best. At best we can take away is the VRAM amount, the price, and they will be at least somewhat better performance, but until its actually bencmarked by someone independent, this could be anything (you only have to look at past launches to see the wild marketing claims).
Also 3090 aside, there is at least both 3070 (16gb) and 3080 (20gb) cards on the way, the intitial releases were just the smaller memory editions. These will probably follow on from when AMD launches thiers as a way of one-upping their particular performance area they sit in.
That was what I expected from 20XX as I did not inject my wants, needs and hopes in to the marketing. Also why I still run 10XX series. But the 30XX will be the biggest leap in GPU performance technologies we’ve seen in some years.
Possibly even defining the direction of game designers/developers and becoming the norm in a few short years. Also AMD will not sit by quietly, the tech will be pushed forward.
The 20XX was a bold leap in technologies and a massive leap of faith by NVIDIA toward real time world ray tracing, something that in the entertainment industry, film and SFX world has been farmed out and with massive costs. That could now be realised in usable rendering times, in house, with SLI 3090 cards. It’s exciting.
Given that FS2020 is an emerging child in the new, game environment/tech world. I find it odd that a great deal of people moan strongly about what is wrong. They never imagine and embrace what is possible while succinctly feeding back current issues. For them the world has collapsed and can not envisage what 10 years of developmental commitment means. So they rant.
This sim has already had its foibles reported above its strengths and possible progression. People will defend what they know, but in doing so could knock the wind out of the sails of those that try and innovate.
