Rtx 3090 + i77700K bottleneck,flyng New york low height , 99% GPU working ,55 Cpu , and 11 or 15 FPS is normal?
Outside New York 50 or 60 fps
That GPU is too much for that CPU.
What is your settings? Hope you did not set everything ultra @4k with scale 200.
Me settings are 4k hight , 100 or 90 scale, the fps are better when photometry is disabled
No, that’s not normal. I get 60 to 70 fps, 1000 ft above NY city. I have i9, 10th gen 2080 super. 32gb ram.
I would reduce or disable live traffic, reduce some of the ultra settings, that won’t effect the visuals much.
I run the sim in 1080 hd though. Not 4K.
I have I9 9900K @5ghz 32gb ram Asus 3090 strix and I get around average 30 fps in 4k in nyc.
i dont know how i can fix this problem ,is in low altitude inside the city,i have 3090 Oc vision with drivers geforce updates, and format windows recently. With disable traffic the problem continue.
and i have 40 gb ram
However when my render setting was at 200 percent then I got around 15 fps. so I pull back my render setting at 100 percent fps went up considerably.
me scale is 100 or 90
Hmm I am at lost here too, not sure what’s going on with your system maybe it is the CPU. Get a 9900k from best buy right now its on sale for $339.99 and they have holiday return day January 16th 2021 try it out if it does not work out you can always return it.
Thanks man ,im waiting for the new generations of cpu,Mfs need more optimizaciĂłn i think
Typical case of spending 1500$ for a GPU without having any clue about how hardware works and how components play together…
Yes man,its true
Sometimes in new York me CPU work at 60% and GPU 99,changing 10 points on scale and the CPU work 99,GPU 60 ,try to work 60/70
There are lots of other factors hardware wise that affect performance.
A couple of examples would be the size and speed of RAM, what type of storage is being used (Hard disk, SSD, M2 SSD), is the motherboard PCIe 4 (it won’t be with that processor).
Ultimately that’s a medium sized car fitted with an F1 engine :-).
Refer to this if you want to fully optimise your 3090:

thanks men
That article is already out of date with the launch of the 5000 series Ryzen CPUs. Most often limited by the main thread, to get the best possible performance out of Flight Simulator, you’d want to pair that 3090 up with a CPU with fastest possible single thread performance:
That makes sense… And OP would basically need to change a lot of components, since they’ll need to change motherboard as well to either fit the Ryzen 9, 5950X, or even with the same Intel 10th gen, it needs a new socket as well.
Quite a big change for OP to do to match the 3090.
