Looking to see if anyone knows their typical power draw for MSFS on the RTX 4090?
I’m seeing about 240 W average with some peaks up to 400w with a Gigabyte OC. This is in VR with upscaling and Ultra settings.
I wasn’t sure if I should be seeing higher peaks.
On the ground in the Fenix at 4K ultra it’s about 270W. About 240W in the cruise.
I was concerned the sense cables may be passing 450W instead of 600W.
I have a Corsair RM1000x Shift and I’m not sure what that PSU signals. Specs call for 450W 12VHPR at 1000W but manufacturers can still support 600W.
Otherwise, with the lack of multi threading, it feels like neither the CPU (7950X3D) or GPU can be pushed to their full potential on the sim. Temps for both the GPU and CPU don’t cross 55 C.
MSFS is CPU limited so GPU isn’t working hard enough to draw max power.
I use the RM1000x Shift PSU as well, try something like Cyberpunk without DLSS and you’ll see the GPU pull way more power.
