Rudder not working properly with Saitek X52. Shakes and returns to center. Have tired everything and sensitivity settings but still not good. Any solutions? Have read a few similiar issues
Have you assigned an axis to the rudder? If not you might have assigned a button, so its digital i.e. full left, and right.
I had that problem. Change Sensitivity until it goes away!
You might have more than one input assigned to the rudder. Search for rudder in the control settings and delete any duplicate assignments.
If you’re using a set of pedals along with the X52, then you’ll need to delete the rudder axis for the stick in the controller settings. You don’t want conflicting inputs.
Thanks for replies, have mucked around with sensitivity but no good. Have no foot pedals. My Saitek X52 is years old may replace it.
I had this problem with my Thrustmaster T1600 - it was less than 2 years old but that is the exact failure I was seeing. The rudder would not stop twitching, would only actuate to one side - etc..
I could close the sim - go to the calibration page for the joystick in Windows and reset to default - then reopen MSFS and go to the controls page and widen the ‘dead zone’ for the rudder axis and that would sometimes work. Until it didn’t. I have replaced the j/s now and all is well.
The odd thing is that the old stick worked fine in IL2 and DCS.
I think MSFS reads and reacts to peripherals differently somehow, to the other sims.
That’s a pretty long title you have there.
Anyways, the Saitek X52 is know to have severe spikes in it’s Z-Axis.
To find out if yours does, go to Settings/Controls/Sensitivity and take a look at what it’s doing.
You may have to add a lot of Center Dead-Band to help.
Check whether “rudder assistant” is turned off.
If your controller is all-original, then it could be the joining cable. It’s nothing but a PS2 with two male ends, so this may help. If not, you’re not out much cash. It certainly saved me from having to buy an all-new controller!
Thanks for all the suggestions. Have purchased a new SaitekX52 pro for a good price. Will look at calibration/dead zones again. I am really waiting for a Boeing 707 and B52 to be released. Sick of current propeller stuff!!
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. You need to CHANGE SENSITIVITY until the problem goes away!!!
