The Savage Cub and Savage Carbon are hard to fly in tight spaces due to an uncontrolled movements of the rudder. It sometimes goes full on and back very quickly but there are nearly continuous and frustrating little twitches.
Is there a something that I'm missing or not doing right?
Do you have a deazone set on your controller axis?
That’s your controller mate
are you using a thrustmaster t-flight by chance?
This can happen if, say, you have rudder pedals, and a joystick with a twist axis. By default, the twist axis will be assigned to control the rudder. Meaning you have two controllers assigned to the rudder. And they’ll sort of randomly activate. Make sure you have no other controllers assigned to control the rudder axis other than the controller you are using for it.
This can also happen if you assign the rudder key to the controller axis instead of the rudder axis option. Make sure, if you have a rudder controller, that you have assigned the proper axis for controlling the rudder.
I’ll check on that
Yes I am, the problem has existed for some time with various planes
I have only the joystick.
Make sure it’s the axis that is assigned to the twist axis and not the keyboard rudder commands.
I HIGHLY recommend investing in a pair of rudder pedals… Eek.
And, if you mean you’re using the keyboard for your rudder… well, that’s the way it works.
you ARE using the T-flight?
try going into the joystick settings in Windows - not in the game.
open the game controllers window in your thrustmaster folder -
click on properties - click on settings - click ‘reset to default’
do not calibrate!
close that and then check the rudder axis in the MSFS2020 in the ‘sensitivity’ window.
If the response to rudder input still shows unsteady or twitchy behavior your joystick twist rudder function is broken. At this point you can use the paddle for rudder control on the back of the throttle. Or you can punt and buy a new joystick.
Using the calibration tool was the problem on my end so resetting to default worked for me.
There are no joystick settings in windows that I can find. There is a Thrustmaster folder but it has no settings that can be changed to default.
I have thrown thousands and thousands of dollars at this simulator in order to get it to work at it’s best. -All I get is aggravation and huge bug infested downloads that take up what little flying time I have available.
Thanks for your attempt to help.
No need to reply, I’m not putting in another dime or minute of my time.
in the thrustmaster folder you should see ‘control panel’
click on ‘properties’
click ‘settings’
click ‘reset to default’
click ‘ok’
close the window and open flight sim to test
