This seems to happen with all non-glass cockpits, but I am absolutely sure this always happens in the C152. Whenever you pause the game using active pause, the compass will continue to turn at the rate at which it was turning when the simulator was paused.
Thus, whenever I take an external screenshot, I have to re-adjust the compass, making screenshots quite tedious. This has been in the game since its release. Can anyone confirm and vote this up, please? I know, it’s a detail, but it’s fairly annoying.
Thanks!
Active pause is a mess : speed keeps increasing if it was when you paused, gyro drifts, AP is lost, etc…You can bind 2 keys for “normal” pause (on and off separately).
Ah this would explain why I was getting so much drift even with the setting turned off. I was getting crazy drift when I had gyro drift turned off, figured it was some sort of bug since I was getting much less drift, and more realistic drift when it was turned on. But I had a flight yesterday where I experienced some crazy drift out of nowhere. I guess live pause won’t be used anymore…
I always try to make sure I’m relatively straight and level before using active pause. And when I return, I hit the keys D and B to reset the heading indicator and altimeter.
Thanks for the tip, I was already looking for that, but did not find. So the issue also affects the altimeter? Haven’t noticed that, probably because I mostly fly level, I wonder if it affects all of avionics. Technically, I think it’s not a bug, active Pause seems only to pause the position of the plane in the air, all other forces remain… But then, on the other hand, in a glass cockpit, the gyro stops. Maybe because it is auto-corrected based on the magnetic compass and other navigational information in real time, so the bug is till there, but compensated for?
