Runway checkered and very geometric graphic artifacts

Brief description of the issue:

My runways are all showing checkered or geometric graphics/artifacts. It is truly ruining the experience.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

ICAO or coordinates (DevMode > Debug > Display position)

KCOD Yellowstone airport. But, this happens to many airports.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Use the World to plan a route. Fly and note the graphics all over the runway.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Intel Core I9, Nvidia 4090 RTX, 128 GB ram.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

No issue at KCOD:

This type of issue is usually due to a mod conflict. Have you tested with an empty community folder ?
You can also try to start in safe mode (it will disable your community and marketplace addons): once in the sim, go to your Windows Task manager and terminate msfs.exe. Restart the sim and you’ll get the safe mode option.

I tried Safe mode. And it looks a lot better now. But, what does this mean? I’ve just installed from the MS Marketplace. I also installed the Niagara Falls and Jepperson update. I have avoided anything outside of the MS world to avoid porking my system.

Meant to say, I did move the community folder to my desktop. It just had Niagara Falls, Jepperson updates and something about a bridge update.

Ok, so that means that one of your addons is the culprit. Now start the sim in regular mode but with the community folder empty. If no issue then the culprit is one of your addons in the community folder. If issue happens again that means the culprit is one of your marketplace addons. If so, you need to disable them one by one (restarting the sim each time) to find out which one is the culprit.

But, if I find the culprit, does that mean I can’t use it anymore? Aren’t we doing backward compatibility at MSFS? :wink:

Once you have identified the culprit, next step is to report the issue to the devs of that mod so hopefully they can work on a fix.
