Rushed Game

How to get Food FPS you may ask?

Switch to P3D for now. It feels like the customers of the PC version of FS 2020 are beta testers still for the upcoming X-Box customers. This game including the UI and all other features was designed for X box. It does not have a proper “sim” feeling and feels more like an arcade game. Apart from the beautiful graphics, it doesn’t have anything else. The bugs that alpha/beta testers found were not fixed. This game was rushed to make sales! This feels like a game and not a sim. Not a good start for a studio that promised great sim but under-delivered on many fronts.

Not sure if this should be in the hardware section…

The game is just out… FS2004, Xplane all had the same issues.

This sim is back by more money than any other sim to date , it’s using technology that our computers can’t even handle at 100% yet. Just wait if you are a real simmer you will be back

Same thing was said when the older FS came out but it got better

yeah same type of thing happen when cars first came out, but some people loved them horse a buggies though.

You express very fair points, I do think that this was rushed for the money grab and that more attention was needed in areas prior to the release, I also think that they should have expressed in more detail to everyone that this is a BETA not a full release.

I disagree with the “switch to p3d” or any older sim. This is down to your own preference though but the way I see it for a lot is some don’t like change. Obviously P3D is going to be superior for it’s content as it’s been out for YEARS. This new sim hasn’t been out for even 2 weeks yet, cut it some slack.

Overall, amazing simulator that has been markated to non-simmers who get to experience something new, rushed release like all games nowadays, can’t complain.

Money grab ? Do you really think MS and all the 100’s of people working on this project and they are hiring more and more people , and the people at Bing are really here for a money grab ? They are spend millions on this title lol. It’s not like MS is some fly by night start up asking you for start up cash. They have a product yes and they do need a return on this product but they are here for the long haul. Money grab no. Future of Flight Simming yes

Probably could have worded that better but the rest of my points seem fair

Ah well.

I am enjoying as it is (with very little isues), so glad if it was rushed; flying already, learning the program, AND looking forward to whatever is coming down the pipeline.

Only have to suffer every now and then but it works

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but everything is about money these days since they as a company can’t make money other ways due to that scary stuff out there.

You switched from P3D and you don’t remember a thing about P3D V5 launch and how many issues there were? And by your standard, which sim’s launch was not rushed?

I think people generally underappreciate how much of a technological accomplishment this sim has achieved and unless Google/Amazon become interested in flight simulators, I doubt other sims would catch up ever.

As a new comer to this genre I really find some of the comments from old simmers interesting

  • Compares default aircraft to $100 addons
  • Spent over hundred dollars on ortho/True Earth, and/or spent countless hours tinkering settings to achieve OK-ish graphics, and then complains MSFS is just an eyecandy
  • Even though spent countless money/hours on graphics, what they truly cared about are the 100 buttons to click each time before take-off and sit in the cockpit to watch paint dry
  • Complains the game can be played by a controller, therefore not for serious simmers
  • Announces their departure to their old sims, only to come back in a few months

Here my suggestion to MSFS/Asobo to create a truly immersive experience for these people

  • Base sim does not have any default aircraft - therefore no complain about flight model, etc.
  • Base sim does not include any control mapping, nor does recognize any peripherals.
  • Base sim only has the default autogen scenery. For streaming, a $100 upgrade is needed

Some things are never finished. As a programmer I can tell you that I am always finding bits to improve, add or remove. Left to ourselves things can go on forever. LM ‘forced’ the release of P3D v5 among comments similar to these. Basically left to the designers things like this might never get released. Many years ago I forced a system to go live over much head shaking. It worked and certainly concentrated minds.

I do miss my PMDG planes… I might give FSX another startup. But so tiring. Starting the weather, starting additional add-ons - that frankly aren’t that great when it comes to UI or user friendliness - having to use all kinds of separate programs for a flight plan that then isn’t recognized by FSX (then no proper ATC) - and probably a big shock when I look out of the windows…

In this new sim I’m almost crashing, because I’m enjoying the view too much.

Just watched a video of the Hotstart TBM in X-Plane do a flight from Catalina to Fresno. Bear in mind that many say the X-Plane TBM is arguably the best study level turboprop in that SIM.
I then did the exact same flight in “ours” and it’s argueable that ours was pretty much technically at least identical or even “better” (but that’s subjective). I’ve never flown a TBM (I should be so lucky) but if the Hotstart is"real", ours is just as real.
There’s a ton that needs fixing in MSFS but I don’t think this is one of them. Next for me South Lake Tahoe to Charles Schultz Santa Rosa IFR.
Rock On.
