SAAB S340B: Distance to run (to waypoint)

In the MSFS 2024 Carenado SAAB S340B, I cannot find an indication of the “distance to run” to the next FMC waypoint (nm).
I’ve not looked at VOR/DME readouts, so those may be present, but in the FMC flight-plan or progress pages, or within the nav display, there is literally no indication of the distance to run to the next waypoint. The EFIS panel and radar display unit hold no obvious solution.
With the advisory VNAV page unavailable, it makes descent planning very difficult.
Hopefully someone here will be able to tell me where I can read the distance e to run figure?
Thanks.

I think you’re correct that there’s not a distance available from your current position to the next waypoint, but I guess you could extrapolate using TTG and your speed? Hopefully Working Title will incorporate the VNAV functionality of the UNS-1 to help with descent planning.

I realize it’s immersion-breaking or not the level of realism some folks want, but I cheat a little for this purpose and use little navmap.

Thank you, I appreciate the confirmation. I too ended up using LNM.
It is a shame though as this was an aircraft I was particularly looking forward to enjoying after having had SAAB’s in FSX, P3D, and two in X-Plane.
The trouble with encrypted aircraft is that there is no hope whatsoever for user based fixes and mods.

I did post in the Working Title discord that there’s interest in having the UNS-1 VNAV functionality. Unfortunately I also asked about the “send to avionics” issue and they only responded to that. I’m trying again.

If enough interested people on these Saab threads joined the WT discord and made requests maybe the UNS-1 would get more of its functionality.

For anyone else reading this, for the “send to avionics” feature to work in the Saab, Carenado would have to add it - Working Title only developed the FMS. And in fact, this FMS is v1.1, but there’s a whole v2 out there that Carenado needs to update the aircraft to use. V1 is for 2020 apparently.

One more edit: just as I hit send, WT replied about the VNAV: “It’s on the list of things to do, but not planned at this very moment.”

As much as we all appreciate the inspired and continued efforts of WT, that developer catch-all phrase “it’s on the list of things to do” comment always elicits a meaningful sigh from me.

Does anyone else feel that the Carenado SAAB S340B is on par with Virtualcol?

I can’t make the flight plan route appear on the ND or the WX radar screen no matter what I try.

Is there a way?

For me, the route appears on both, but until today I wasn’t sure which step of my process is responsible for this. I use Simbrief for my route planning, and I have the Simbrief addon for the EFB so I can just create the plan within the sim instead of an external window. In order for the route to appear on the ND and the radar screen, I have to click “import route” on the Simbrief “view” tab in the EFB. I assume if I simply used the EFB’s built-in flight planning, it would have the same effect.

Ah, thank you, I will try that; I’ve simply been entering the route directly into the UNC-1.

Yeah, my method is a bit complicated I guess. I really only use Simbrief for these trips because I don’t want to do fuel calculations manually… I enjoy a certain level of systems depth, but I guess fuel calculations are one of the places where I draw the line lol

Not at all, using SimBrief is an ideal way of flight planning - dispatchers will no doubt have real world equivalents.
