Saitek Flight Panels

If I may suggest, download demo of lorbys program see if any difference. That’s what I run, maybe it has some magic in it.

Out of ideas.

Computer can be tricky, could be some other issue such as USB ports themselves.

Put your device in a powered USB port or hub…

If you use SpadNext it will work fine. I just downloaded the latest and I’m using the multi-panel and not the switch panel because I have the honeycomb and it has the buttons pre-programmed already. The multi-panel works fine but I haven’t tried navigation yet but just altitude, heading and vs. I tried it on the cessna 172 but I’m sure it will work fine on the other GA. One step at a time.

to be fair, it was never on the list of supported peripherals, and since that list was published well before the FS was released, you should have known that it may or may not support, and secondly, those peripherals are special devices, you woudl argue its logitech’s job to work on support, not MS, due to the way they work (they are not standard HID devices). ASking for a refund form MS, is going to not get you anywhere, as MS pretty made clear what they DO support. you coudl get a refund on the peripherals… especially if you live in the UK (suitability of purpose).

I actually ended up making my own dials uising an arduino micro (see a separet post i made in this section) and as that behaves as a standard USB gamepad - so supported by the game, it works really well, i have 5 dials for ALT/HDG/Speed/VS and trims that rotate with clicks, and the game responds perfectly, cost me only about £30 total for all the parts. and works like a dream.

I was tempted to get the saitek/logitech gear, but after a bit of research i realised it will not initially work in FS2020, so i passed on it.

I am trying spad.next and most come back at my earlier criticism and say now, it’s ■■■■ great…
All panels work and no framedrops or other crappy lag…

Yesterday I was exited that the panels (Saitek) worked with Lorbi Si, today the program will not come on, starting before or after the simm. I do not know what keeps Lorby from starting, if it does everything works. I have not changed anything from yesterday…

Oh my, all those bucks! You almost could have paid yourself a real glider license for that money!

Sadly its not physically possible for some people to get out and enjoy it in real life, so this is of course the next best thing!!

It’s an encoder, and a slow one. Best practice is to set it to increment/decrement Trim SET in 0.01 radians. Do not use trim up and trim down as that goes through the system like a button press so it’s as horrible as the trim buttons on the keyboard or a joystick.

I get about 7 half turns top to bottom in the 172 running it this way so it reacts much more correctly.

Just set up SPAD.next trial. Multi & Radio work correctly with default profiles (plenty of customisation also if needed) 5min install.

No noticeable frame drop. And no more fiddling with the AP or radio dial via mouse wheel :joy:

First impressions are superb and will be taking their license when trial comes close to end. €18 approx

Yea it’s working right now since yesterday.

You can’t practice Go-arounds in a glider.

I have my PPL with NVFR, currently studying for my IREX, so this is dual purpose for me, I want to do some instrument practice, so this setup is as close as I can get for a reasonable price. Otherwise I have to pay $130/h in a sim. Though this is about 20hours worth so far :frowning:

Thank you!!

Very true, I’d love to fly for real but it’s so much safer for everyone if I need to abort a flight mid air in a sim

If you get one let me know, I can get the verbatim settings I used.

And that $130/hr FTD usually doesn’t fly any better than MSFS. Especially the Epics and most of the Redbirds.
