I am wondering why we have so many developers who decide to bring the same aircraft type. Like 3 times the A-10 Warthog (MsScenery,Deimos, DC Designs) or the Eurofighter (Bredok, CJ Simulations, Indiafoxtecho) B-2 Spirit (kwik Flight, topmachstudios)
I guess this has something to do with the whole development process. A dev starts to build a plane, this may take a few month or maybe even years for a small team with an in depth project. If another developer releases the same product two month before the product of one team is ready, they won’t scrap their work and start off something new.
Well if it’s from Deimos, CaptainSim, Bredok or MScenery it doesn’t count in my book. But I get what you are saying.
The (almost) three Spitfires and three P-40s are also hard to understand for me. Especially considering there have been long periods between the releases, so it’s unlikely the development overlapped that much
Exactly. There’s a reason these developers choose the same planes as other developers. They want to ride the coattails of their announcements, and, by beating those developers to release, they get a good chunk of marketing for free. People purchase their planes thinking they’re getting the plane from the other developer a lot. Plus, just the free marketing is good for them.
I’d love to have an old C172 (M or N) with the 150 or 160 hp engine with carb heat. There are far more of those still flying than the current S models. Hopefully A2A will do one next …
Their C172 is coming. And hopefully it will offer those engine variations as options. Their C172 is their best seller on FSX, they’d be silly not to hurry and make it a priority release for Accu-Sim 2.
I prefer having a choice because the first available product for sale isn’t always at the level I’d like. E.G. Bredok vs. PMDG for the 737 or FeelThere vs. iniBuilds for KLAX.
Other times, I like having the choice because, say, I don’t want the complexity of an FSLabs Concorde, nor potentially the $80 price tag. Instead, the lower fidelity of the DC Designs version and the price point of $37 is much more appealing to me for an add-on that might see only occasional use.
I stumbled into a “i want that aircraft so badly” with the Bigtirestudio’s kitfox (not to be confused with the rather good Big Radials) and was utterly disappointed wtih it, which is the big problem with newcomers to the sim. They see the oppurtunity and jump on it, only to find out it was a missbuy and then complain rather than warn other users from buying those utterly useless aircraft. Always do your research before parting with your hard earned cash. As for the marketplace, if something has 18 reviews and they are under 4, wait a little longer… Some things under a 4 star rather can be decent… others will just be on the descent when more reviews come in.
So, learn your developers, the good and the bad… that’s all we can really point to. The community will speak with it’s vote if something is truly good or bad.
What will be the difference between the CJ Simulations Eurofighter and the indiafoxtecho Typhoon…
It would be nice to have a doubleseater at least.
Anyway…Indiafoxtecho would be a must have…
