San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge Real vs. Sim

There are just some artifacts under the bridge, maybe from satellite pictures.

Very accurate !
One issue I got whenever flying under this bridge with the Pitts, just after I cross it, the engine stops, and the plane eventually crashes in the water. Strange…

Thank you.
I just flew under the bridge with the Icon and there was no problem.
Made an looping around the bridge (with all options on easy).

Tried flying under Golden Gate bridge with the C172 and also got a stalling engine.

I just crash and burn as though the bridge is connected to the water. Also bridges near niagra falls is like flying into a wall.

I fly with all assistants on.
Maybe that is the reason I didn’t crash.

You are right.
I checked, flying the Icon instead of the Pitts, and same problem of engine stopping for the Icon.

Then it must be that i fly with all assistance options on and easy mode.
Do you have the online World Map on? (sorry)

yes (but don’t understand the question)

I thought that maybe the bridge is in the online world map other constructed, than in the offline map.

Model is very accurate yes!

Also, I instantly crashed too with the Cesna under that bridge… Sad as it’s one of the first things I did, each time, for all other sims I played for the last 30 years :disappointed_relieved:

Edit : I not even tried to land on the bridge itself, as this is one of the second things I do usually :joy:

Even on many other bridges, Either you crash or the engine shuts down. There is a topic on the subject and the bug is reported in the ZenDesk.

I had the same issue.
Flying under golden gate was one of first things to try as I did that in MSFS 4.0.

I can confirm that bridges in New York (e.g Brooklyn Bridge) also seem to be „walled“. Strange. Will try with something bigger and stronger next time, like the Boeing 747…

But how come such basic flight maneuvers haven‘t been properly tested in the alpha already?:joy:
