Saturn and Jupiter on Dec. 21, be there; Aloha!

We have a perfect opportunity here to see the planets aligned this year. Hopefully the Dev’s have this dialed in perfectly for us to see. Get to at least FL300 and enjoy the view!

Another good website to show you where to look:

No way this is simulated.

Someone on here, who claimed to be “in the know”, in regards to celestial bodies claimed the sim was right on the money. Any who…

Are these the two giant planets getting ready to be aligned?

I would appreciate it if an Asobo/MS representative could let us know if the sim will handle the two planets properly later on this month (12/21/2020).

The planet on top looks like it has rings (Saturn):

When I did a night flight recently the constellations and the moon were in the right places so who knows.

That’s actually incredible, if anyone is going to miss any celestial event, just pop right into MSFS. This sim will never cease to amaze me.

Why not? I keep realizing it’s a full moon because of the sim.

The other day, I did a real flight, and when I got home, the sim matched my view from the cockpit when I looked at exactly the same time between the two… (the first two pictures I took while seated in the plane I flew out there, the Warrior in the 4th pic).

(yeah, I’ve got some cleaning up and organization to do in my community folder regarding available AI parked aircraft )

Unfortunately, whis won’t be a thing in sim as the planets aren’t simulated in the night sky. Just the starfield and the moon.

So, yeah, just checked my star map versus MSFS, doesn’t look like the planets are there :sob:

Honestly, I am very cool with them not having the planets in motion. That is just one more FPS lost to the digital gods.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
