For MSFS 2024, also see:
Back in FSX and Prepar3d we could save flight including exact location. As there many open Hangars in FS2024 it would great to be able to save flight in them and load that flight back in the free flight menu. We used to have this functionality! Come on Asobo how can it be so hard to give us it back.
It would be nice if MSFS team would add a way to auto save the last flight on MSFS 2024 exit, and maybe add a âResume Flight Button somewhere under the Free Flight section.
Hello Devs,
yes please give us save function on all platforms (I am using PS5). It seems helpful for crashes and also for long flights, to stop the flight and load again for example the next day.
When beginning a flight and after the time-consuming process of completing the Checklist manually (in aircraft where the autocomplete feature doesnât work properly), sometimes things go wrong and we must restart the flight, at which point we must begin the Checklist again. Instead, why not add a SAVE feature in the sim, whereby we could set a ârestore pointâ, e.g. where weâve completed the Checklist, or indeed anywhere during the flight, in case things go south?
I canât imagine how itâd work with live weather.
active sky has an historic weather function shame beyond atc does not use it sayintentions does
Back in FSX we could save a flight that included exact location, aircraft state, time, weather etc.
You could fly and land off feild to a cool location, park in the hangar/under a big tree etc and fully save that flight and load back into it from the menu.
Just think how cool this would be with P42âs awesome camping scenery addon with its persistence mode.
All you new pilots that have never had this functionality dont know what they are missing but Asobo has inexplicably removed this feature form 2020 and 2024. This needs an explanatioon and a commitment to return this most basic feature.
Yes I know very well what you mean. Some of the best features of the older Flight sims have been excluded in the new flight sims. I miss being able to change aircraft on the fly (so to speak). That was a good feature that has been excluded too. Now you have to go into dev mode bla bla bla to do that⊠Just an FYI I have been using flight sims since SublogicâŠ![]()
Iâve been asking for âJourney Modeâ ever since FS24 was announced. Iâm tired of asking for this obvious enhancement.
Please (pretty please) Asobo, give us a way to set a flight plan, takeoff, land wherever, shut the aircraft off, update the logbook, shut the sim down, then restart exactly where we left the aircraft, in exactly the same state we left it. I understand that with simpler models âwear and tearâ might not be possible. But fuel and oxygen tank levels, flightplan progress? Why is this not implemented?
âWhy is this not implemented?â That is a very good question. Frankly I think that the last flight should be automatically saved, with a âContinue Flightâ button as one of the options in free flight at least. I guess that is too much to ask for.
It only has 147 Votes and the saves whether local or in the cloud would likely affect performance and or amount of data streamed causing more complaints. I would never use this âfeatureâ but I donât have CTDâs either. Maybe focusing on the CTD issue people are having (are folks still having CTDâs?) is time better spent by the team then saving flights.
CTD (Crash To Desktop?) I do not have that issue, in fact quite the opposite. MSFS24 will not exit to desktop. I have to go into the task manager to exit the FS. I am not a programmer, so I ask this question. How would a one time automatic save (on exiting the FS) affect performance?
That wouldnât. I was referring to the auto save feature that has been requested in case of CTD which would.
