Press start screens are video game tradition. Respect tradition
LOL
I really do appreciate that this thread exists but I disagree. I think I can stomach the main menu being a start screen.
somebody doesn’t like change
nobody here does.
Odd for me that pressing a key on mouse or keyboard (both wireless) has no effect on Press Any Key to Start. I have to press a key on my joystick to move forward!
Maybe Microsoft should go back to the good old days (Before Windows, or even DOS), when cassette-based software for your C-64 or Spectrum came with hardware copy-protection devices. My favourite was a weird plastic lens device which you had to use to look up a random sequence of keys printed in scrambled fashion on the printed cassette leaflet.
This is the funniest thing I’ve seen all day, but the “tradition” I think is to have an option to skip it. Even if we could update the game shortcut to have a -skipIntro flag would be good, sometimes those exist to even skip the pre-game video clips.
They should institute an homage mode that turns on the press any key screen and gives us back everyones favorite floating name tags from the alpha/beta.
Some people just can’t let go of the buggy whip.
This is trolling, I reported it
Like people that said that after restart it was gone just after the patch
Bugs are also tradition … don’t fix the bugs, like when there was no intentet for patches.
They can leave “Press Any Key To Start” screen if it will appear only after main menu is loaded. Because the main reason to remove this screen is only because if you launched game and forgot about it - game will not start to load main menu before you press any key.
Well, it was for me, the first time I started the game after patching it. Then it came back…
While we’re at it we should also “Save the clock tower!” …
hehehehehe !!! Good work! Thanks for the laugh
You’ve just won the forum for today.
I’d prefer insert quarter…
I hope they at least keep it as an option, I actually quite like having it.
Plus I believe it was a requirement for passing console certification.
I for one like to keep the press any key but make it an option for PC version, will sure make both side happy, lf this “press any key” included mouse and joystick /yoke trigger will be a plus.
Anyone that feels this is tradition is free to create a launcher that prompts to press a key before actually launching the sim.
But it also used to be tradition to fully test and ensure a quality product is shipped…
Just sayin’
