Is there a way to save and name, then restore different configurations for the controllers. It would be nice to have a config for the 172 and a different one for an aerobatic plane. In the sim I see a way to “save” a config for a particular controller but can’t see how to call it back (restore) in the Preset manager.

Absolutely. You can use the Preset Manager in Options Controls to create as many different profiles as you’d like, then select whichever you want for a particular flight or aircraft.
To change between profiles, use the small field underneath the peripheral name at the top to move left or right through all your custom profiles.
