Sayintentions AI ATC Master Thread

,

So just to be clear - you’re saying you can have 50-100 visible AI aircraft models at a busy airport with almost no FPS impact?

I had this on several flights recently in the Fenix a320 with live weather; KATL to KCLT and also KLAX to KLAS; At the gate in KATL and KLAX I had parked AI aircraft of 50-75 and enroute of another 25-50. I set SayIntentions trafffic at a 3 on the 11 point scale. If I set it at 5 or higher then I for sure see cpu loading that causes stutters and slower performance in general. I run triple 4k screens set to 30fps fixed (AMD FSR FG x2, so 60 for total) on DLSS performance. I’m seeing max cpu core usage of a steady 80% on a 9950x3d (remainder of the cores are a steady 50-70%) and my 5090 is averaging 75% load. I’m running dynamic settings on MSFS graphics and also the other program we can’t say anything about for managing LODs. No process lasso but I do monitor core usage and MSFS runs on the x3d ccd and my background tasks on the non cache ccd (navigraph charts, say intentions, Chaseplane, MSFS pop out panel manager for 3 popped out guages, motion platform, etc). I’ve tried Lasso and it caused sim freezes and audio popping sometimes and no observed cpu benefits for me. I have also tried BATC that I also own and can’t run much traffic at all and see stutters and audio pops and worse fps by a noticeable amount as compared to using SayIntentions for traffic, cockpit copilot/crew/etc.

That’s not the experience I have. I have seen the claims that SI traffic injection doesn’t cause FPS hits but I’ve never been able to replicate that myself. I have a power system as well with a 9950x3d and a 5090. I guess I’m just not one of the lucky ones. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, as I find it manageable and the immersion is worth the FPS cost.

I find when I use BATC’s traffic injection, the FPS hit is harder than it is with SI so I prefer SI over BATC.

I just wanted to provide another perspective to this as I can’t replicate the “no FPS loss” no matter how much tinkering in setting and other things.

For sure there is FPS loss with traffic. But I don’t find the hit nearly as large with SI. It’s manageable for me as I’m running 30fps/60FG and a mix of other graphic settings. If I trod to run a lot of cpu heavy settings at ultra I would have to turn traffic down below the 3 out of 11 that I run now on SI.

Ok..thanks..informative

I am farely new to SI, after using Beyond ATC, I have a triple screen setup that is fairly heavy on CPU use with MSFS2024 on Win11. So I am trying to offload SI to a separate Laptop after using 1 of 4 windows resets in SI settings. both computers have direct LAN connections which have fixed IP addresses. I have successfully used mklink to have the second version on laptop look at the main SIM PC’s SI directory %localappdata%\SayIntentionsAI\ and the files are read/write. But the SI app on the laptop won’t connect? I think it is because the MSFS2024 SIM is not feeding the input and output api to the SI app on the Laptop over the LAN but not sure? Can anyone with the knowledge or experience with this point me in the right direction?

I have now been told it is not possible to do this on Discord and think they might be right but has anyone succeeded in doing this and with what setup. I am abouty to give up and use a second windows reset to put SI back on the original main simulator PC? however AI keeps telling me people have done it?

Just finished a long-haul from VHHH to EGLL in the iniBuilds A350 (no WASM crash phew) using SayIntentions AI and honestly… this was brilliant, feel I have to share my experience.

Arriving into Heathrow on the LOGAN2H STAR, things got interesting.
London Control advised:
“Bad news, hold at LAM as published 7000ft. VIP landing. Won’t take too long — 5 to 10 minutes at most.”

That level of contextual traffic explanation just adds so much immersion. It didn’t feel generic — it felt real.
Entered the holding pattern as per chart at Lambourne VOR (LAM) as published on the chart. Proper stack behaviour, no weird vectors, no nonsense.
After roughly two turn (about what they predicted), thanking me for my patience I was instructed to:
Exit hold
Descend to 3000 ft
Cleared direct (believe it was CF07R — I’d need to double-check the exact fix for 27R sequencing)
The sequencing felt dynamic rather than scripted.
What I liked
Realistic traffic reasoning (“VIP landing”)
Published hold, not random vectors
Clear exit instructions
Smooth transition back into arrival flow
Felt like proper Heathrow stack ops

For those who fly into EGLL a lot, you know how important LAM stacks are for realism. This actually replicated that.

Overall
This is exactly where AI ATC shines — dynamic flow management rather than robotic clearances.
For a heavy long-haul arrival after 13+ hours, it made the descent phase properly engaging.
Very impressed.

I would of liked to know who the VIP was, I never asked.

I was flying VFR in Florida a couple of weeks ago and got the dreaded “You’ve entered a TFR area. Standby to copy down a phone number.” lol. I asked ATC and they mentioned it was VIP related. It uses real world Temporary Flight Restrictions, apparently.

To be honest I know its subscription..but this is my goto ATC..and I have every available ATC on offer. Thats my personal choice.

Vfr in Europe is so terrible…

No its not. Please elaborate? I respect 100% peoples opionions but however please back that statement up!

I ask for basic service and I get it

The last time I flew with SI, it didn’t provide the correct routing into the CTR. I was cleared to land far too early, and it even gave me a traffic circuit that doesn’t exist.

New user here, I have a couple questions

  1. is there a setting to reduce ATC response delay? I seem to be waiting quite a while

  2. I have traffic injection turned on by have yet to encounter another plane. Does this only happen in high-trafficked areas? I’m flying around Nuuk which is pretty out there, but it does have a decent amount of traffic coming in and out. I haven’t seen another soul.

also, i’m having a lot of issues like the AI ATC not responding back to me. As you can see in the screenshot below I said i was ready for takeoff but no one ever responded. Am I missing something here? I tried multiple times.

Suggest you post on their Discord…they are very responsive.

i dont have a discord account anymore. i found it not very good for support. more of a big chatroom

I’ve been a pretty big supporter of SI for almost a year now, but has anyone else noticed a drop in quality over the last few weeks? The last several flights have had pretty significant bugs - ground traffic not moving, errors in vectoring, voices not matching their location, and things not translating over correctly from the new web-based interface. It’s been enough to where I’m reconsidering my subscription.

Any thoughts? I’m just wondering if it’s only me or if others are having similar issues.

Yes I have noticed those things. On their Discord they are aware and have said that some external cloud based service providers have had some problems which impacted SI (delayed responses, odd vectors or lack of responses, etc). I feel like this is a temporary blip of just a few weeks and on the whole over the 6 months I’ve used them they are leaps and bounds better than the alternatives.

THEIR Discord support is exceptional though. They may not solve the issue on the spot (although much of the time they do so), but they’ll at least advise you on next steps, like raise a ticket etc. And they leave no stone unturned, they’ll aim to resolve all bugs.

Sometimes there can be a slight delay in their responses I expect that’s to do with network load etc.

I have been finding recently that sometimes it is taking a while for traffic to load in but if you give it 5-10 mins it will normally all load in (or clicking new flight as a reset can help too).

Did you request VFR clearance initially?

At airports with a published clearance frequency sayintentions/ the FAA would expect you to call that frequency first for clearance.

The clearance frequency is showing in red so sayintentions is still expecting you to be on that frequency. The one click responses are also giving clearance options so to me that suggests that something in the clearance step might have got missed.

Also ground hands you off to tower as you get near the runway you shouldn’t switch over yourself.

So all those things combined suggest a step has been missed somewhere.
