Screen flickers with Frame Gen on

I have got frame gen running, however I use the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 and when I turn it on there are flickers appearing on the displays. I have TAA on, as soon as frame gen is off it stops flickering. I have changed it to DLAA which stopped the flickering but screens are bit more blurry and not as sharp. I do not have a gsync monitor, apparently that’s vital.

How do I solve this?

I had this and couldn’t fix it.

Went to the AMD FSR settings - worked well with good FPS.

Then today, I went back to my original settings and it worked ok :roll_eyes:

Frame gen on disables vsync. This isn’t a limitation of DLSS, it’s a limitation with the way it’s been implemented in the sim. Some people claim to have fixed this by forcing vsync on in Nvidia control panel, but I didn’t have success with that. You can see @UpscaleSmile83 saying here that it’s working for them now, so YMMV.

What ‘fixed’ it for me ultimately was buying a display that supports variable refresh rate (Gsync / Freesync).

Also worth noting that when you move the focus from the sim window (for example when you have another app running on another screen) the FG in the sim turns off. This is, I believe, because MSFS is not a ‘true’ fullscreen app.

Hi.

This happened to me when using Frame Gen with G-Sync on.

After I turn off G-Sync in NVCP, selecting the option fixed refresh, the flickering stops.

my monitor does not have g-sync. I reckon its my cpu, i7-9700k pairing with my 4070, not good enough?
