Screen tearing no matter what I do with settings

That may be OK, since it supports Adaptive Sync, but I might still look for a similar model that specifically supports AMD FreeSync

And then if it supports FreeSync will the tearing go away?

I don’t get it though becuause its saying its enabled on here…

Well your other screenshot indicates the Display does not support it.

Yeah just a bit confusing as it says it works on the MSFS24 page, gonna upgrade to this and hopefully it should fix the problems Amazon.co.uk

Thanks for your help!

Is there anyone that can help me with this, I’m at the end of my rope. This is literally the only game I have, where this ■■■■ gives me problems.

Try to achieve a consistent framerate of 60 fps in msfs to match your monitor’s 60Hz refresh rate; this will give you the best results.

For example, set max frame rate to 30 fps and enable 2x framegen. Additionally, enable Dynamic settings and set the target framerate to 30. This should give you a consistent 60 fps.

And disabled Radeon Chill if it’s enabled because it must be interfering with the settings in msfs

I’ve done all this, I have adrenaline set so that nothing is on, set frame gen on with 30fps max, turned it off and set the max frame rate to 60, nothing works. Nothing.

It is the only game that gives me this headache. The only one. And I have a lot.

These are my settings. Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong? Because I’m genuinely out of ideas at this point.

120hz refresh rate is common with Oled TVs, but you never mentioned the make and model. So, if you can’t maintain 120fps, then you will get tearing. You have Max Frames 30 with FG x2, so you should be getting 60fps. Set Max Frames to 60 to target 120fps. Also, Vsync in the game settings is EXACTLY the same as Vsync in the AMD control panel. It’s a myth that it’s better in the control panel.

  1. What EXACT make and model of TV?
  2. Does the TV have a “GAME MODE” setting, in the TV itself? (if yes, turn it on)
  3. In WIndows > Settings > Display > Advanced Display > What is the “Refresh Rate”
  4. Is there an option / drop down menu to change the Refresh Rate?

Since you use fsr framegen, vsync is automatically off in msfs.

So you MUST set it on in adrenaline / msfs profile : wait for vertical refresh = ALWAYS ON (it’s vsync)

And see if you can force screen refresh rate to 60hz in WIndows > Settings > Display > Advanced Display > Refresh Rate so it match with your frame rate 60 (30 x 2)

Cheers

Yes it has a game mode, it’s turned on.

The refresh rate is 60hz, the same as the TV.

So, not an expert, but my understanding is that tearing happens when the TV receives a new frame before the previous frame is finished drawing… part way down the screen, the new frame begins, thus the tearing effect.

Which means, the TV is receiving frames faster than 60 Hz. Since you don’t have VRR…

Just an experiment, but what if you set Max Frames in MSFS of 29 + Frame Gen x2 = 58 FPS…?

Hi, I have had no tearing on my 9070XT until the feb 2026 Adrenaline driver. No other settings changed. And now - even when downgrading to the previous driver version - I still have tearing. Run 60Hz on my monitor and 30 FPS with 2x framegen as I always have had. No issues until now, and I have tried all settings but still no luck.
