I currently have taking a Screenshot mapped to my Keyboard Windows Logo + Print Screen keys. (I think MSFS came that way)
The keys are too far apart for me to press them concurrently using 1 hand.
Anyone been able to map taking a Screenshot to either a single keyboard key, or a pair that can be reached with 1 hand?
Thanks
TG
I think you can change this assignment in the Windows Game Bar configuration, but I don’t know the details of which key combos may be assigned.
You could also use a different screenshot program; I use NVIDIA’s overlay + capture tool, and have it configured so Alt+F1 is a screenshot, I find it quite convenient and easy to hit with one hand.
Windows key + Print Scrn is a windows hotkey. It has nothing to do with MSFS. There is no native way to rebind it unfortunately.
As already suggested, you can use Windows Game Bar and rebind the hotkey for it’s screenshot feature. Try pressing Windows Key + G to bring up the Windows Game Bar.
It’s Windows that came that way, and I believe it works even without the Game Bar installed. There is no internal screenshot function like there was in FSX. You can also use ⊞+Alt+PrtScn to grab a shot with the XBox Game Bar. Unlike the first function, this one only grabs the active window. Output location can be customized to go wherever you like. As mentioned above the Nvidia GeForce Experience overlay package uses Alt+F1 by default.
That’s the best way and you can change the keys in windows → settings → game bar as well.
I bound it to Ctrl+F10. Can be pressed by one hand and is reachable for both hands comfortably depending on which hand is on the stick.
Also you can use other peripherals (e.g. Logitech mouse) that comes with macro functionality to bind a mouse button or a joystick button or Streamdeck etc. to that combination.
Just make sure the MSFS window is in focus (using two monitors I sometimes accidentally take screenshots of LittleNavMap
).
