Yes, of course there is !!!
Otherwise (as you are finding) Gauge development becomes an greatly time extended and frustrating process.
Unfortunately, the way to do this does not seem to be documented in the SDK, so is only know to a few “informed” developers - obviously giving them a significant advantage in the marketplace.
Maybe the way to do this could be shared , either by Asobo, or by the any of the developers who have figured this out themselves, or been told (in confidence) by other developers.
