Seafront Simulations Product Catalogue | Seafront Simulations

Hi @FoxMike212

Thanks for the feedback and screenshots. The offset boats are due to the underlying satellite data changing since the pack was released, so we will look to update this as part of the next update to the scenery (which will also include ExclusionRectangles  ).

We’re glad you’re enjoying it :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Some Work In Progress update screenshots below (shown in MSFS2024):

Thanks again,

Seafront Simulations

I’m a little disappointed in this. Ships and boats in the Norfolk VA/Hampton Roads area work fine in the Chesapeake Bay or James River but along the shorelines, they just pile up, intersect each other, intersect the scenery, etc. it looks like a hurricane went through the area and threw boats against the shore line. Then there are the large ships that just sail through the Bridge tunnels over the roadway instead of routing through the open water where the tunnels are

Take off from KPHF and head towards the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel. There’s normally a ship parked on the highway then head over to the Norfolk Navy docks they’ll be piled up on the shoreline like they ran aground. I think these are static ships that are just not placed well

Hi @Milamber18

It sounds like you might have the default ship traffic enabled as we don’t have ships with that behaviour (especially the piling up that you mention) in those areas. You can see the locations of our ships on the Global Shipping 24 map at:

Please can you try with the default ship traffic set to off. Of course you can re-enable it later if you wish but it will help eliminate any potential misdiagnosis.

You can email us at contactus@seafrontsims.com too with screenshots if you need further help with it as this is not a support thread.

Thanks and kind regards,

Seafront Simulations

That actually worked. Awesome. Thank you for the reply.

You’re welcome. Thanks for confirming.

Chris @ Seafront Simulations

I got the global shipping addon for 2024 and so far I really like it. But I’ve flown into LTFJ Istanbul irl a couple of times and since there is a big port near the airport, I’ve always seen loads of ships in front of the coast, reminding me a bit of Changi. I was a bit disappointed to not see this in this addon, there are barely any ships infront of LTFJ here, I hope this can get updated.

What else would be nice to see, is the ability to see GAIST models be used by this addon, giving even more immersion by a lot more models available to “model match” like it is the case with air traffic injectors.

But else I like it, well worth the money

@SeafrontSims I recently acquired the global shipping add on for 2024 and it is quite nice, thanks for that! The vessels are quite detailed when I go close to them.

However there are no people inside the vessels either piloting them or crew or on decks. I can see the pilots seats even and the vessel is sailing by with no one piloting it.

So just a request if it is possible to add even static people inside the vessels - would greatly enhance the immersion.

They’re not really meant to be viewed from super-close-range so I think adding people would be an unnecessary drain on resources, however small the footprint might be.

You can land on some of them, so some crew on board would be nice.

Already even the pilot seats inside the cabin of the vessels are modeled including other interior and exterior details, so if a static person is put there sitting on the seat without animation, I don’t see how there can be any meaningful performance penalty.

And if it is not meant for close viewing then why not remove those internal details to get even more performance!

Both fair points, in the last couple of posts. I guess I never go close enough to see these finer details but perhaps they ought to place static people models if they’re going to such lengths with other intricacies seldom seem from altitude.

Thanks @hispdtortoiz

It is something we’ve looked at for a while now and we have some cool ideas beyond that too but we are only a small team and we have some other updates to work through first. That said, thanks for raising it as it helps us with prioritisation.

To @JakTrax78 's point - There would of course be a bit of an impact but we should be able to test that and keep it minimal. No promises yet of course
