Seasons 2024 Enhanced - By Bijan - V 1.5 Released

The area you mentioned is part of the main region of England, which my current settings are optimized for. These settings work well for most of the area. If I make adjustments to the coordinates you specified, it may negatively impact other areas, as they shouldn’t be densely forested. This is why many users have complained about excessive tree coverage in the UK.

@Mobias7 In addition, many areas in UK have bushes like this. So I created bushes to replaces some of the trees which works well for majority of UK.

If you check the vanilla version, these are all trees instead of bushes:

And with my mod in 1.6:
Which is exactly how it should be:

Hi Bijan, should your Angel falls mod work in msfs 2024 or will it only work in 2020? Thanks!

I guess its just a difficult balance to get right because there’s so much regional variation. Also, locations like the Scottish highlands are generally really quite bare of trees apart from coniferous plantations. Obviously the vanilla sim paints way too many trees in, which your mod does a good job of removing.

Yeah the bushes are a great addition and look much better along road ways.

There is always room for improvement. The only way to adjust your area without effecting other areas in manually with SDK, which I intend to do in following updates.

Thanks Bijan, those conifer plantations on Dartmoor look way better!

Rocks are back on high Dartmoor too!

Haldon is still very bare and nearly all decidious for me. Here’s ChatGPT’s coordinates and tree composition,

Haldon Forest is centered around the coordinates 50.6631° N, 3.5661° W, covering an area of approximately 3,500 acres (1,416 hectares). The forest spans a plateau south of Exeter in Devon and stretches between the towns of Chudleigh to the west and Exminster to the east.

The approximate bounding box for the forest is:

Northwest corner: 50.6870° N, 3.6200° W
Southeast corner: 50.6330° N, 3.5220° W

Haldon Forest’s tree composition is predominantly coniferous and evergreen, making up approximately 73% of the tree population. The remaining 27% consists of broadleaf and deciduous trees such as oak, beech, and birch.

Also there is another couple places

The Great Plantation, near Liverton, Devon, is approximately centered around:

Coordinates: 50.5869° N, 3.7011° W This is nearly all conifer

Yarner Wood is centered around the coordinates:

  • 50.5934° N, 3.7203° W

This looks very bare in winter, it’s probably about 50 50 conifer and evergreen vs sessile oak according to ChatGPT

Wistman’s Wood, located in Dartmoor, Devon, is centered around:

Coordinates: 50.5642° N, 3.9886° W

It is a famous ancient oak woodland situated in the Dartmoor National Park, I think it’s the oldest in the country so even though its small I’d love to have it in the sim. If you check photos of it, it’s a beautiful, fairytale type place, with very small twisted ancient sessile oaks and lots of granite rocks littering the landscape.

Finally, there are loads of annoying trees on Berry Head

Berry Head, located near Brixham in Devon, is centered around:

Coordinates: 50.3982° N, 3.4904° W

Is it possible to remove them all and fix the wall where it should be? There’s a Napoleonic fort remains in the form of walls that the sim has rendered has houses. I’d love that to be in the sim better!

The problem with MSFS 2024 is that it looks so good, the mistakes are really jarring.

If you are happy to make these additions Bijan I’ll donate to you through Paypal if you have one, I appreciate this is a lot of specific requests over a tiny area and you should be getting paid extra for this work! Are these requests okay?

Good grief Kjaye! If Bijan agrees to this I’ll ask him to create my front garden too LOL!

I’m going to allow him a couple updates of peace before I ask him to model my roof repair!

Dartmoor looks great now. This is flying over the Warren Inn pub on Dartmoor with the conifer plantation of Fernworthy on the hill behind, so much accurate now!

Anyway, as I said I’ll pay him extra for those additions I know I am asking him to basically prioritise my own needs above the greater good and if he doesn’t have time he can absolutely say no.

Maybe he can set up some kind of policy of payment for specific requests, not sure if the forum allows that. But I don’t want to take the Mickey out of his patience so I get what you’re saying.

Just very excited by this new sim!

Thanks for the suggestions.
I’ll go over these in the next couple of days along with some other feedbacks I received from here @Mobias7 and emails.
All are small details from UK.

Thanks for the offer but there is no need.

I’m glad I’m not a handyman.

Thanks Bijan! I’m happy to pay for the updates though, I do realise there are hundreds of customers who all care about their own particular area.

Dartmoor is looking so good now with the rock clutter back whilst still being otherwise barren.

I bet you would ace any geography pub quiz now, must be familiar with every region in the world.

Ooh, goody, a new Seasons update to try out. Thanks Bijan! I’ll give some feedback after I try it out.

Meanwhile, I plan on removing a dozen or so trees around my house and replacing them with the correct trees and bushes…which will no doubt take me all day.

Is it still required to delete this folder for the seasons mod to work properly? after reading this forum I deleted it (backed up), but I had no satellite imagery in MSFS2024.

No. That’s not required anymore.

Happy new year all of you! Quick question that I can 't find a good answer to online.

Having installed and enjoying the Bijna Enhanced Seasons mod, what happens if I use the SDK to alter some vegetation around my local area? Will that work of do I have to set a specific order in the community Folder? Something else required?

Thank you in advance!

That should work without any issue.
Happy new year

Hi Bijan, and happy new year to you. I feel I may have asked this before (but looking back at my post history I can’t see anything) :grinning: - but, is it your hope that some form of this mod will come to Xbox in the future?

Hi,

Yes, hopefully there won’t be any issues this time.

Hi Kjaye, I’m a fellow Devonian too, Dartmoor does indeed look amazing now. Do you use the Torquay, Paignton mod from flightsim.to ? It looks great, but does have some dodgy photogrammetry trees. I don’t think it is possible to remove them though due to being a mod to the sdk? A similar issue exists on the Plymouth mod, there are tiny little islands/trees in the area near the Tamar bridge.

Hey! Yes I do have that and Exeter. I’ve removed all my third party non official 2024 stuff for now though as I was getting freezes on the map when trying to load into flights or it would freeze at exit. I just took out everything not officially supported and it works fine now so probably won’t put them back in.

I find with the google photogrammetry in both 2020 and 2024 the lighting is all messed up, like it just gets covered with a golden glow that I hate. I really hope Microsoft bring us Exeter, Torbay and Plymouth as official photgrammetry soon, the Google stuff is about 8 years old now!

Hi,

Can you separate the Mask files into their own folder to make them easily removable please?

Thank you!
