I’ve just noticed againg the “RELAUNCH GAME TO UPDATE” status by the CORE CONTENT package within Content Manager.
In the past it usually appeared couple of days before patch / game update (also during closed beta).
So I think that it will take just couple of days to release “Patch #3”, possibly together with “Japan update” (9/29?).
Going for the hat-trick of flawless and speedy downloads and updates. Only just started flying around Japan so looking forward to that and to see what updates and fixes hopefully come with it.
I thought patch 3 wasn’t coming till next week?
I’ve been looking for the dev update and found nothing apart from the Japan stuff, which is all well and good, but where are the bug fixes?
Why are the comms so hit and miss?! Frustrating.
today September 24 should be the update. I’m wrong?
Development Update, not an update to the game
Update = status
Patch = software
That is a Dev Update, not a game update.
This has been like that since Alpha, it doesn’t mean an update is on the way, unfortunately.
So where is the dev update then? I am all ears here like an African elephant.
Usually they arrive late. I don’t see them until Friday morning in Europe.
Yes, but last two patches this appeared couple of days before patch. So it may mean that they are started with preparing the software update. I noticed this EXPLICITLY days before each game update / patch, every time. So that’s why I’m speculation / pointing out.
Today there should be just DEVELOPMENT update (just detailed status info about what we may expect) but it should be connected to what they actually know about the upcoming GAME update (patch)…
What a disappointment. I thought there was an update today.
So there is no way to know when the next update is?
Yes, tomorrow is the day I also expect it here in Europe (i mean the development update, not the patch, just to be clear).
I wish I knew. If there is no acknowledgement of the download issue (I cannot download the game) then I am refunding.
“The message “Relaunch the game to update” simply means that this folder will automatically check for updates every time you launch Microsoft Flight Simulator. If there are no new packages to download, you’ll have no updates to download.”
Basically, the message appearing a few days before a patch seems like placebo to me
Completely agree.
To clarify, I’m just curious about WHY this appeared EVERYTIME couple of days before patch arrives and disappeared immediatelly after patch arrived. FOR ME this implies that “something is on the way”. Coincidence?
There are two seperate words and the differentiation is very important here. In regards to MSFS:
UPDATE means a development update, which happens every Thursday where Asobo post news about what they’re currently working on and may announce when the next PATCH is.
PATCH means the actual software update that you download in game to fix (or make) issues.
There is an UPDATE today, as it is Thursday. There is not a PATCH today. Hopefully in this UPDATE we will learn when the next PATCH is coming.
I think I’m beginning to develop a headache.
I know this and I’m able to distinguish between these words, even though English is not my natural language… And you should know that if this discussion continues this way, it’s only about words, not things I tried to point out…
So to be precisely clear and clarify my thoughts, I dont and didn’t expect patch today or tomorrow. I expect it in days from now, possibly packed together with Japan World Update. And I also described my previous observations of things that happened days before at least two previous patches. That’s it. And yes, this may not be true, these are just my speculations.
