Same story here… I believe it’s a known issue, but the solution I tried earlier did nothing for me. I’m still getting the MS Store launch and error when trying to update.

Seriously frustrating since it’s been a week since I’ve flown because of update issues with the recent sim update. Up till then, my updates were ALWAYS flawless.

That usually means there are Windows Store updates (not updates to the sim itself) that are pending.

See the yellow highlights in this technical note.

“Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store” Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.

thanks already for the quick answers…i will try that…

so “happy” to see i m not the only one…really frustrating…hope we will fix it…

I tried this method, but I still get an error while trying to update.

Looks like I’ll have to try again tomorrow…

Maybe try:

Settings, Apps
Go down to “Gaming Services”
Advanced Options
Repair (keep data)

See what MS Store does now.

I’m not reinstalling the sim especially after I basically just had to install a 67 GB update last week…

This is beyond frustrating. I had been flying so much and really enjoying the sim before last Tuesday but every day since it’s error after error here and there when I launch the sim

I tried that solution yesterday and it didn’t work… what did I do wrong?

Did you:

Run powershell as an admin?

Reboot your computer after that?

You can also open „regedit“ and delete both manually. It‘s IMO easier and faster anyway. But you need to reboot.

When you say “delete both manually,” what exactly am I deleting? MS Store? MSFS?

Go here

And go to Nikita Mendelbaum‘s reply. He explains it quite well. There are explanations here in the forum too but I was too lazy to sesrch them  let us know if it works for you

Will let you know. But yeah, I tried another solution from the forum yesterday with no luck…

Try this:

Opening a Powershell window in Administrator mode and running the following command:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

  • Uninstall flight simulator but keep the 90GB download data folder.
  • Reboot PC
  • Reinstall gaming services. -----I skipped this step and it worked fine.
  • Reinstall flight simulator.
  • Restart 1 more time, launch the game. When starting up, point the game to the directory with the large game download folder

I’ll try this method and hope for the best…

You can’t play without gaming services.
When you launch msfs it opens up the MS Store to install gaming services.

FS2020 knows where the large data folder is if you don’t change it yourself.

Check UserCFG.opt in:
C:\Users\your user ID\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

That is where yours is.
