Hello,
I had to do a complete reinstall from DVDs and I deleted MSFS from the app panel. I deleted also Official and Community. I thought to have to start again from zero for my profil (logbook, …) and control settings. I was surprised that there was no change. I guess there is another location not affected by what I thought to be a complete uninstall. Where are corresponding files ?
Best regards
That’s because your settings are saved online. I think you can set most of the settings to default, via the menus.
I think your settings are connected to your Xbox profile. I also did a reinstall (new computer) and had everything in the logbook. I do not remember if other settings were also transferred.
Hello,
Thank you for answering. I should have thought of that but how to access to this location and to the corresponding files ?
Best regards
Your logbook won’t be changed as it is saved in the cloud. Go through the menus in game to change controller or sensitivity settings, there’s no real reason to try and edit them via files.
Hello,
I know there is no need to manage settings via these files. I was only curious about these locations and files.
Best regards
Hello,
I found nothing in Xbox profile. Thank you for one idea.
Best regards
Your settings are saved in the cloud and aren’t client-facing. They’re not hidden away in your XBox profile where you can access them directly. There’s nowhere for you to access / view / change these config files, log book etc outside of the game itself.
Not entirely true…
C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Interesting, but I suspect those files would get overwritten by the cloud data as soon as you fire up the game, no matter what you do to them locally. I could be wrong though.
Nope. I use the usercfg to tweak graphics settings. Have eliminated pixelated clouds and poor LOD as a result.
Yeah, that’s 1 config file that only gets overwritten by game updates.
But the OP wanted to know where controller configs, profile info and log book were stored. These files really aren’t what he was asking about.
Got it.
My bad…
