Severe Problems on Xbox After Sim Update 9

Well. Yesterday I managed two flights with the A320. but during appraoch the AP couldnt seem to find the localizer. Or it tuned into the the parallel runway. (landing 26L, catches 26R.) The radios properly tuned to the correct frequencies and approach selected in the FMC. so my approaches were VFR. Today however, i cant seem to get past the world map screen. I can zoom in and out. But the right stick movement freezes the screen. So i used the tool bar to select a departure airport and gate. Made it to the loading screen, and the game crashed. This has happened 3 times now.

I have tried this in the past. What puzzles me is its capped at 30 fps on the xbox without VRR. I donā€™t have VRR and also my tv is only hdmi2.0 which apparently only does 60 hz. If I pick 1080 it letā€™s me use 120 hz but their seems to be alot of micro stuttering. I donā€™t know what setting to use as there is also a 1440p setting but only supports 60 hz.

The VFR map seems ok for me, has not caused any issues as yet

In 1080 120 hz my main menu is more smooth but if I select 4k or 1440 p 60hz when I click on the world map itā€™s a bit slower, Iā€™m flying since 4 hours now without problems, obviously the su9 is absolutely not optimized but until they fix it Iā€™ll do this, when I was on pc I remember the launch of ubisoft ghost recon it was a nightmare, absolutely not optimized and I spent 1 week looking to find a good compromise, to make the game playable, I didnā€™t think weā€™d be doing the same thing today in 2022 on consoles

Had another great flight out of Liverpool and up the coast. Very overcast and rainy day. Everything ran smoothly.

Iā€™m going to try around London and see what I get.

Update: flew out of EGLM just outside of Heathrow. Started great but as soon as I was in closer to Heathrow , stutter and lagging.

Now going to try deleting WU UK.

Same flight from EGLM over Heathrow with WU UK deleted. Slightly better but still small stuttering

Turned photogrammetry off - this made the stuttering worse and a couple of freezes. Did not expect that.

Turned photogrammetry back on, and this time turned off live weather. This was an incredible difference with no stutters. Very interesting that live weather is having this impact.

Now will test with WU UK installed again

WU UK installed, photogrammetry on, Live traffic on, live weather off.

This seems to do the trick, at least for me. It seems live weather is causing my stuttering. With it off I get zero to very minimal lag.

Live Weather needs to be optimized as itā€™s currently a resource hog.

Sick DRAM!!! Wooooo!!! Seriously good latency!!! Better than DDR5! Iā€™m on the same PC boat, Top tier and in the tank from SU9. This did happen WU3, they did patch it after 2 weeks.

The similarities with the WU3 disaster trigger my PTSD lol.

Iā€™m at a complete loss with this game. I tried the following tonight:

Boeing 747 - Offline and no AI - LHR to Copenhagen - CTD while loading after map page.

Boeing 747 - Offline and no AI - Paris to Madrid - CTD again

A320 - Online - NYC to Quebec - CTD during taxi

Thereā€™s me thinking this game is actually unplayable on Xbox, offline, online, it doesnā€™t matter, then unbelievably:

Concorde - Online full specs - Madrid to Paris - worked fine, well the ILS sent the plane into a huge climb but usual bugs for me with Concorde.

I would have thought Concorde with live traffic, weather and in Europe with the addons I have would have been content heavy, but it worked with no lags.

I just donā€™t get it!

Me too, Iā€™m eating fist fulls of lorazepam  I do feel for those affected on XBOX, itā€™s worse, it is.

Thatā€™s the strangest thing about all the issues raised here as far as Iā€™m concerned. Not everyone is having them whilst others have them all. I have had all of those raised so far but not every time I fly. I only have 3 addons and they are 3 aircraft nothing more.

Iā€™ve just been watching some of the video captures I did on SU8 and it is smooth!!! even when I was at Heathrow with about 20 other aircraft (live and generic). It just doesnā€™t make sense to me that it cannot have been caused by the SU9 as nothing else has changed.

I flew out of Delhi on SU8, Iā€™ve never seen so much traffic, it was awesome, holding patterns in the air, queuing up for the runway, and the game worked perfectly! Now as I say, I can barely get onto the tarmac. For me the issues started happening immediately after the update, so I canā€™t look anywhere else but SU9.

For those experiencing CTDs/stuttering from the menus it might be worth you voting on this post to hopefully highlight the issue better.

The funny thing is, I donā€™t get CTD at all (knock on wood). Since SU9 I got one, that was on the World Map. In-flight, never. Stutters, lock-ups, everything is there but it doesnā€™t crash for me. Iā€™ve got live everything turned on, partly for stress-test reasons. I completed 787-10 flights with around 15-20 fps all the way, it was terrible but still worked. So itā€™s really a mystery what causes these for some.

Do you still have the possibility of emptying your cache and setting it to 16 or 18, for me itā€™s impossible now, either it says that the value entered is incompatible, or that it is greater than the available space, definitely at Asobo only bugs are updated regularly

I have all options intact. Rolling cache is set to 16 GB, although it makes no difference in performance or stutters. The last time I loaded in a flight and pressed ā€œReady to flyā€, the game instantly locked up for ~20 seconds and I was wondering if it was going to crash or not. It didnā€™t, but this quality is frankly unacceptable.

I highlighted I had this issue earlier in this topic. Previously on SU8 I had no rolling cache issues and had 32Gb set all of the time. On SU9 it will accept both 8Gb and 16Gb but when I type in 32GB it says it is not a numerical number. I also had issues early on with SU9 where the rolling cache would disappear and not let me change the values.

No it isnā€™t if you fly in ā€œofflineā€ mode like me. At least I have something to fly until a patch or fix is issued. Iā€™m happy with what I have, Iā€™m ā€œthankfulā€ and grateful I have at least that, unlike other people (in general), who are thankless and ungrateful and not satisfied they have at least that.

Iā€™m not grateful, for the simple reason that itā€™s not worth the 120 ā‚¬ I invested, bottom line
