Severe Problems on Xbox After Sim Update 9

Can anybody explain why MSFS crashes (cuts out), sometimes, when you are about to land?

Seems smooth :+1:I wish it ran smooth like that 100% of the time for me

no my friend, join the club

I think its just random,it can happen anytime.I get CTDs,before take off ,during take off,mid flight,on approach,at least in my cases anyways & this applies in any plane in any region .

Hmmm I was wondering if it is to do with FPS issue?

I’ve been with this sim all the way - first on pc, now on Xbox

I’ve come to dread each SU.
Every time, something has needed tweaking - sometimes fairly minor, other times the sim is broken.
Most times I’ve just sorted myself out and got flying again when the next SU drops.
Now this is fundamentally wrong - users shouldn’t be dreading SU’s. And I think that’s the majority of MSFS users - I think most of us are apprehensive of forthcoming SU’s rather than looking forward to them.
And that tells me that the development process has gone badly wrong somewhere and something needs to change.
Communication would at least be a start. So far the development team can’t even do that - instead there are stories of them high fiving each other on the release of SU9.
I’m so glad they were happy
. If it were me I might have waited to see if the update had been a success first, just releasing product isn’t a good enough criterion to measure performance against.
Accountability- that’s what I want to see more of and MSFS deserves it.
Someone posted about having minimum performance guarantees at the core of the sim. I think that’s a brilliant idea - an SLA for users which would drive performance based improvements rather than nice feature driven “improvements” such as over done turbulence

It’s just sad we are at this point. All the PC users downloading the PMDG 737 now and flying. Us Xbox users can’t get the world map to load.

I loaded 5 flights today, had 3 CTD’s straight on from the map. I found a Seneca livery that finally loaded with no issues, completed one successful flight. Started a second then got the avionics black screen. Had enough time to make an “emergency” landing and then another CTD.

Well, not so fast

I got cocky and tried the a320 NEO from Lax to San Fran. All went well until last bit
AP suddenly won’t fly route and loses GS. So I then hand fly to runway. Taxi to gate and connect jetway
 CTD

This can’t be a coincidence. Yesterday I tried to start a flight from SVSA and the game crashed on the world map. Today I tried again, same result.

I’ll just keep checking the forum for when the hotfix is released.

Walk away from it until it’s fixed. I did, and I find it extremely therapeutic.

Yeah no kidding.

It’s beyond ridiculous. Every flight you’re expecting the worst. Could you imagine if 7 out of 10 flights IRL ended this way ? Flight operations would stop immediately
but here we just keep running it into the ground. It’s just a matter of when your time will be up during the flight.

I play on XBOX S with no Ctd and everything on and console is not wired but linked via wifi. I do have 100Mb broadband though.

All weekend it worked for me and nows its back to how it was last week. Ctd

I have noticed that some menu hangs are accompanied by a blinking XBOX button on the controler. Anyone facing this?

Your right its a fools errand.

Yesterday during the game Xbox closed itself two times and after the reopen it gave that cooling error which says Xbox needs proper ventilation. Both happened using drone cam, one airport was keb other was Kodiak scenery.

Do you think game may damage The unit?

Edit: Xbox staying vertically and open space on the desk without anything around.

It seems to be the hidden “thing”., which I crash into when the landing just ends. I’d prefer some message like, “you where doing a great job!” then go back to main menu. It hides pretty good whatever it is.

If it were related to cooling, the X-Box would not CTD, it would black-screen and turn off, if it has crashed internally due to overheat then the operating system would not be left running.
