Which livery are you using ? I can’t find the one on your screenshot. Is it a 3rd party one ?
I am seeing a shadow with the default C172:
Regarding the A330 (I don’t have the A350), as reported in the 1st post of this thread (Dec. 2024), the shadow is completely missing, it did not even have a low quality shadow. So for me, yesterday’s update did not change anything for this aircraft.
I think what they’re reporting is now when using these aircraft nothing has a shadow. Not other AI aircraft, not jetways, not towers - nothing. That also seems like a new development with the changes made in .18.
I was using a 3rd party livery and when testing with a default livery the issue disappears. Good catch - apologies for not verifying that myself first. Unfortunately, that does not fix the issue with others I’ve tested thus far. As always with core sim changes it may take some time for addon developers, including livery makers, to catch up.
EDIT: What’s extra interesting is that even using a default livery while this seemingly-incompatible livery is in my Community folder is breaking the shadows on the 172.
EDIT PART 2: Okay now I don’t know what to believe because back in the sim with an empty Community folder again and:
Ok, understand now and can reproduce, see the jetways:
A330, KMCO, gate 121:

I would say this is a new issue (SU4 regression) and should be reported in a new report.
Do you have any Marketplace addons that could impact ?, try disabling them also.
Update: I just noticed that the description already includes all types of shadow, not only aircraft, so it is not a SU4 regression but it is there since the beginning.
I would say that the title/description/steps to reproduce should be updated, mentioning that issue only happens when using an aircraft that has no shadow at all.
Same issue here, also with .19 update from today.
Empty community folder.
Tried a few planes, C172 default, Carenado C172, Carenado F33A, Beechcraft King Air C90 GTx:
When RayTracing Shadows is enabled, the shadows are visible.
When using the Drone Cam, the shadows are visible.
When using the External Cam, NO Shadows.
No issues with Cessna 404 Titan, Cessna C400 Corvalis TT, Diamond DA-40 NG, Piper PA28-Dakota
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
When using the A330 and switching to cockpit or external view mode, no shadows are rendered.
Additionally, sunlight shafts pass through the sunshades at full brightness instead of being dimmed as the tinted film should simulate.

Continuing the discussion from Sim Update 4 Beta (1.6.21.0) Release Notes - October 31, 2025:
A330 & scenery/buildings shadows are fixed in latest SU4 build (RT off):
Finally got to try the new build, everything seems to be fixed now !
It took time, but I’m happy that things looks how they supposed to, thank you ! SU4 is definetly the update I was waiting for, and I’ve finally deleted 2020 from my system.
One thing I noticed - while this is fixed on the latest beta build, as you move away from the aircraft, the shadow cast by the landing gear disappears very quickly. Xbox Series X
Maybe this is unintentional but I’d imagine it’s due to the LODs. Just like the landing gear itself disappears at a certain distance, so does it’s shadow at some point
Exactly what I was thinking. The landing gear itself was still visible even when the shadow wasn’t and I was close enough that it was glaringly obvious
Latest beta .22 shadows are missing from A20N in external view. Visible on showcase view. Xbox Series X
