Shall I take a gamble?

Hmm…

Couldn’t get through. Wing caught on one of the trees. I tried going round the side but couldn’t turn without hitting a different tree.
Had to abort.

There’s a bug report somewhere about that. You should this to it.

What happens if you use slew mode in Career? I would try that.

No idea if it helps, but you can try to set the tree setting low.

A nice idea for a mod is to have a toolkit available to cut them down. ^^

I haven’t tried slew in career (or free flight for that matter), but doubt it would be good for the stats and credits unfortunately. Will have a look though and see if it’s an option. :+1:t3:

Yeah true. That could work. I didn’t lose much by aborting but wouldn’t have been happy if it wrecked the end of the mission. I guess you can skip sections though. In fact I possibly could have skipped to take-off then, not sure now. I do’nt think I had the option at that point.

You could just use ALT+N to skip right to the hold short point. I’ve had to do that recently during taxi to parking because the parking spot was on the roof of a building. It worked though and I didn’t get penalized.

Yeah just noticed that it was giving me that option! Doh!
I try not to skip anything so wasn’t really thinking about it at the time but it would have made sense on this occasion.

Non career moder here. :waving_hand: Dumb question (definitely), but I assume you can’t just turn off crash detection?

It is indeed a gamble where you’d fall into one of the following:-

  1. Works well for some
  2. Works terrible for others
  3. Works somewhere in-between for everyone else…

Good question! Not something I’d considered tbh. I think in this case I just found it funny and just thought to share it, rather than try to figure out how to resolve it but it’s good to hear possible solutions from others. You never know when it might come in handy!
