Here are my updated settings, with the help of this AWESOME group of people and this thread, plus ChatGPT fine-tuning for my exact setup. I feel like this is where it was pre-SU5, maybe even more smooth!
OLED Ultrawide Display, Tobii Eye tracker
ChasePlane MSFS 2024 added as well
Thanks @NixonRedgrave @BigCow74 for your replies/help!
How can I get rid of these ghosts?
I see a few mention that they can no longer get Tobii to work despite not running the Open Track exe.
As per instructions on either Tobii website or Opentrack if Opentrack is still installed you need to rename 2 Nr. dll files to OFF.
They are the following:
NPClient.dll.OFF
NPClient64.dll.OFF
Located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\opentrack\modules
Restart PC then Tobii should work again through MSFS 2024
Disable the broken one, which is probably your vjoy conflicting.
Not sure if this is the right place to talk about this, so feel free to direct me into a specific topic if it does not fit here.
I have sometimes a small lagging when I do a quick look over my shoulder.
It is not consistent so I guess it is more related to LOD setting than Tobi itself.
Lets say I fly for about 15-20 minutes looking out of the front window. And than I take a quick look over my shoulder, thatās the time I get a very short lag for the movement of the viewpoint.
It is only the first time I take the look, going back to front window and then back over my shoulder everything is fine.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Not a big deal just curious what could be the reason.
EDIT:
Or maybe, since I am getting older now, it is only the friction of my neck causing the issue
This sounds more like the rather longstanding issue with MSFS culling textures and visuals that are out of view in order to free up resources, and then having to re-load those textures when you change your view. Items will go in cache, but eventually will become stale and need to be re-loaded.
Thanks. I have done that & still cannot get it to work
I canāt get it to work well, it recognizes the new curves on but Iām way too far back from the cockpit and it wonāt recognize the hot keys Iāve set on my stick to recenter and toggle off..and the msfs controls listing shows 2 separate Tobii devices when I only have one. Iām thinking itās corrupted somehow and will have to try completely uninstalling the Tobii, then run msfs to have it store a controls profile without any Tobii, , then reinstall the Tobii app and start fresh.
I had to create a new profile to get it working. But I did not have 2 tobi as hardware.
Simhanger flight simulations made a new YouTube video explaining the new settings and showed his settings. I am pretty happy with them.
Good info. Hereās the link:
Simhanger Flight Simulationās YouTube video was very helpful for me. I used his settings exactly and like them more than my original settings. Even if you arenāt having problems, the video has very useful information about Tobii Eyetracker.
The 2 Tobii entries are a current problem in SU5.
Use the bottom one (probably Tobii2) and do your settings there. Then every time you start the Sim check that your Tobii setting is still the one selected before you do anything else.
Watch āSimhanger flight simulations ā YouTube video explaining the new settings the link is given by BigCow74BigCow74 in this thread. That will help you sort out your positioning problem.
Thanks so much for this. Copied the exact setting and my Tobii is now usable again.
