Shared cockpit flight lesson in Norway

So Jip. V (his Discord name, I think he is a user here, too, and if I get his ID, I’ll update this post) and I did some same cockpit flying in a C152 near his home town, and I took some pics along the ride. He flew for part of the way, and I flew part of the way, and I thought I got more screenshots as we were approaching the runway, but my hard drive says otherwise.

The mod for the shared cockpit can be found here, and until MS gets the functionality working in MSFS (which I understand is being worked on), it’s the only way to do it.

He was pickier than my real world CFI, “too much power”, “I said 310°, not 315° on the heading”, and “you’re too high for the landing”, but at least he liked my landing, and it was good if I do say so myself.

But unless/until he shows up to say hi here, you’ll have to come on over to my Discord Server here to chat with him. It’s not my place to put words in his mouth, but I bet he’d be willing to do some flying with you, too, and teach you about the shared cockpit, and how to use the software, as well as act as a virtual CFI (which he is NOT IRL). But I very much doubt he’d have time for everyone, so first come, first served. Assuming he’s willing to do so in the first place, and with his busy schedule (he’s studying towards becoming an A&P), he may not.

These pics will be posted over there, too, not that it’s all that exciting to see the same ones twice lol…

Taxiing out for takeoff…

Lots of beautiful scenery. There are some freeware addons that make it look better, I’ll post those at the very end…

If you look right off of our wingtip, you’ll see the Vertigo aircraft, which is an 850hp turboprop version of the JMB aircraft. It’s also freeware, and you can find the link at my Discord site, the invite is above…

And here are the links I promised you for the scenery…

ENOV - Ørsta-Volda/Hovden » Microsoft Flight Simulator
ENML Molde airport, Årø (Aro) » Microsoft Flight Simulator
ENAL - Ålesund Vigra - Modded default scenery » Microsoft Flight Simulator

Got it , TY .

Hey, nice article!
It was a fun flight, we both took the controls. The flight was scenic, from his perspective, i’ve flown here IRL much and unfortunately the mountains look “■■■■” ish, better than X-plane, but hope they will improve on it in the next world update. Father we flew beneath some mountain tops (just like IRL) of wheee we had to look up to see the top. After that we flew to the airport where I took my PPL at. So I took the controls for a moment and lined us up on the left downwind for RWY 25. As I am used to fly a really tight pattern, witch probably caused @KevyKevTPA to come in a little bit high. With full flaps and a small slip( AVOID SLIPS IN A 152 WITH FLAPS!) we touched down before my usual go around point so we rolled out, with the touchdown point being a little to the left of the center line. I cleaned up the airplane for him while he taxied to the club apron for a debrief of our nice and scenic flight.

If anyone is interested in doing some sheared cockpit, then join his server and tag me there!

@JipVerwer It really was a lot of fun, maybe next time I’ll show you around my hometown. The photogrammetry is so good, you can see my house, and from a reasonable flying altitude (say 500’ and above) it looks like it would from a real life airplane at the same altitude. If you go all the way to ground level it looks like krap, but it’s a flying sim, not a driving one.

But yeah, that sounds like a good idea, just let me know, here or on Discord what works best for you… For those interested, the discord invite is KevyKevTPA's MSFS Hangout

Oh, and you forgot to mention my near perfect landing! Well, you mentioned it, but didn’t comment on how perfect it was lol… Oh, and the “small slip” turned out just fine too lol…
