The 5900X is overkill. the 5600X should handle the sim just fine, 6 cores and 12 threads are the sweet spot right now. If you really want to be future proof you might go for the 5800X, but I doubt you’ll see any improvements over the 5600X.
But yes, I agree, it’s not worth going for Intel anymore. Ryzen 5000 performs equal or better, you don’t need to spend extra for a ‘K’ version, and you don’t need an expensive motherboard to overclock.
