Should each new update, be it world or sim. Be an optional paid option?

Because we the people don’t think, the “rental software market” is alive and well. When PC’s started, you purchased a product for them, and updates were included, until the next great remodeled version came out. If I get it, the “rental market” means you pay annual fee, and all the updates/upgrades are included. Quicken does this for 50 a year. I personally hate the rental market, and buy a complete license for software if I need the product, if it can be had. Nero is prime example, you can by complete license, or pay a cheap fee for one year subscription. I do not update software but every three years, and then sometimes not for 5-7 years. Why upgrade if the thing works fine the way it is.

The rental market is a money maker, if this MSFS evolves into that, I will leave the platform for ever. So I won’t pay for fixes/updates, which should be released, because the current state of the sim is so poorly implemented. Many “CORE” areas of the platform are just broken, and Asobo/MS have decided that fluff updates, are more important than getting core issues resolved.

If they choose to make me pay for it, I am gone. I have setup a Linux system on a USB drive, and if MS gets to greedy, I can and will leave windows period and move there, the software I need is available in that software package to work productively as needed, so I cannot play games, the world will not end.
