Should I be setting my Hz at a lower rate?

I get better results using Air Link than I do with Virtual Desktop with my i9 13900k/rtx4090. This lets you use Oculus Tray Tool (OTT) to set ASW and set max framerates options. I don’t actually see any benefit in setting a max framerate, just disabling ASW is all I find I need to do.

Even if you don’t use OTT you can easily use keyboard commands to adjust ASW; ctrl+num1 = ASW off, ctr+num4 = Auto (default), ctrl+num2 = 1/2 your refresh rate fps with ASW off, ctr+num3 = 1/2 your refresh rate fps with ASW on. The num# are numeric keyboard #'s, not top row #'s. Plus, you can do these commands anytime on the fly.

I also set the Oculus desktop pc app device graphics to 80Hz refresh and the res slider full right. Bitrate set on the rift home dashboard to 200mbps Dynamic Oculus debug tool all defaults/zeros except distortion Low, link sharpening enabled, and mobile asw disabled.

I can get slightly better visuals using a Link cable with the ODT bitrates set to 500mbps but I prefer the freedom of wireless.

I have used Virtual Desktop for +3 years, starting with a Q1 but over the last year or so I’ve found Air Link has improved a lot and the colors look better, to me anyway. Also, it has better compatibility with all my steam, oculus, and viveport apps.
