Should I get the PMDG 737-800?

THIS⬆️

I was going to post a reply, but this is exactly what I was going to post

EDIT:
I don’t own the -600 (I have the -700) but I hear from several sources that it’s a rocket😁

The -900 comes with 2 variants, the -800 comes with 4, the -700 comes with 3 and the -600 comes with 1.

There’s no vast “greedy corporation” conspiracy here. The more expensive variations have more features.

I’m still trying to figure out how you’ll get your friend to “give” you the 100.00 gift card.

I think this thread has actually convinced me to get the -600, -700, and -900… I have owned the -800 since release.

They’re all fun in different ways. The -600 for JANET ops between KLAS and KXTX and the various aerospace industry fields in the region; -700 for a TON of SWA routes; the -900/-900ER for Delta, Alaska and United routes …

I had all of them on P3D and do remember how different they all feel. I want to experience that again in MSFS. I don’t fly many actual routes per airlines, rather do various “world tours” and select the aircraft most appropriate for a specific leg. But the itch to have the full lineup became real. I was resisting for a long time, just satisfied with having the type. I will also make the same step with the MD-83 and 88 expansion.

Wikipedia has an article on Janet Airlines that can expand your number of destinations. There’s even an occasional trip between Vegas and Wright-Patterson AFB (Dayton OH), Hq AF Material Command.

Oh, I know. I’ve read that article and posts going back years from Airliners.net and other planespotting resources. Just being brief in a forum post.

I have the 736 and 738, is it worth getting the 900 or just wait for the 747 and 777.

I mean, do you WANT another Seven Three to simulate specific real work routes? If not, I’d wait. The 777 is almost certainly coming this fall. In a recent remark in a thread on the PMDG forum, Robert indicated the plane was about 90% systems complete and detailed flight deck modeling is in progress.

This is the real question!

How’s that arm Jeremy???
I bet they had to twist it super hard  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: :joy:

Yeah, they did. Honestly, I missed having the full line from my P3D days. So it’s time to have the full line again in MSFS now that I have moved on from P3D.

Greedy because they run their business based on simple supply and demand…like every other smart business owner on the planet?

Folks let’s keep away from a back and forth argument.
These forums are not the place for that.

Keep this to the topic at hand.

I like the product. Can’t stand the producers.

Yes you should get it. Another way to look at the price is, that it’s very affordable for the money asked. Money should not be an issue at all, it is still a bargain for what you get. A nearly perfect, professional grade, simulation of an airliner.

In the mainstream modern airliner category our choices come down to PMDG’s 737 or Fenix’ A320. While as a passenger I prefer the Airbus by a big margin, as a hobby simpilot I by far prefer the 737, since it’s more hands on direct flying than in the airbus.

Of course in the beginning you can start all set up on the runway and fly patterns just for fun, with not much more than a checklist (and virtual passengers vomiting in the back), but in the end if you want to master the real world complexity of modern airliners, you will spend hundreds of hours. The asking price should be irrelevant in sight of this.

The 737-800 is the most versatile (including four variants) and right in the middle of the road product, so I would get that.

And I really like PMDG as a producer, since their approach is professional, above most others in this biz, they do not force us having to go to the dark side of data mining platforms (discord) in order to talk to them.

I have the 736 and 738, is it worth getting the 900 or just wait for the 747 and 777.

That is like asking if you should get another banana or ask for the steak.
Very different products. 747 and 777 are long haul airplanes requiring long runways.
If you like long haul in the sim then the answer is AND, not OR.

Yes if you want the best airliner by far on XBOX.

The only problem I’ve had with the 600 is flickering cockpit shadows. No other variant, in my experience, has this problem.
