Hello, should I install the WU4? since I usually avoid flying in areas where there are World updates (EEUU, JAPAN UK) to improve performance with Airliners. This time I have not installed the package for France, Benelux and Netherlands although the mandatory updates are :(1.15.8)
I have relatively good performance at complex airports in these areas with no WU4.
My question is whether future hotfixes will be based on the world updates and I will go out of sync
In my opinion you should wait for the next hotfix and try then. I don’t fly in either Europe or USA and I still got terribly affected by this update. Cheers!
Is possible to avoid install an WU?
Yes, from the beginning World updates are free content, courtesy of MSFS. You can choose install or not.
The mandatory patch is a must. But the world update content is optional.
I believe most of the bugs are to do with the mandatory patch you get automatically, not the optional France World Update.
I have WU 4 still sitting in my Marketplace and uninstalled.
But my question is:
Is there is any problem as far as future WUs or SUs (System Updates)
or Hot Fixes from ASOBO?
It has no effect really for future updates. The one in marketplace are usually scenery updates. Like more photogrammetry data, for cities, more points of interest, custom handcrafted airports that places itself on top of the default base.
If you’re getting bugs, it’s more likely coming from the system update itself that’s mandatory. And you’ll get them regardless whether you install the marketplace content or not.
Unless the bugs occur on the location of those sceneries that you have installed but nowhere else, then it’s a bug from that content.
I have everything installed myself.
Thanks for the reply.
Since last patch I had random CTD’s and I unninstalled the last windows update KB5001330 to see if this solve the problem.
Perhaps its due last MSFS patch.
In my opinion the it’s not the optional content of wu4 that creates problems, but rather the mandatory patches that came along with it (at least for me and several other users), and we all installed those. In my testing I didn’t see any difference in performance with the optional content installed/uninstalled apart from Nice airport which can be easily uninstalled. So if your performance is good, I don’t see any reason not to install wu4 optional content.
Yeah, but I saw some videos showing the bad performance in airports like LFPG or LFMN with A32NX. That seems unplayable.
But anyway,…aprecciate your feedback guys!
I’m having severe performance issues since that “performance patch” before WU4, despite having sort of high end pc. Especially on A320, but also other glass cockpits. I can’t complete any flight since the fps is dropping continuously to a point where it’s unflyable. At this moment the sim is parked, I’ll see if SU4 fixes something, otherwise I’ll have to take a long break from it, hoping sometimes in the future they’ll eventually deal with these performance issues.
If you like flying VFR in Europe then I’d say yes. It’s a great upgrade to the landscape, I flew around Antwerp, Brussels, and Paris, then a few trips around the French Alps in the C172 and am very impressed. No performance problems at all.
