I’m wondering if I should upgrade 3080 gpu and 10900kf cpu? I have 64gb ram and a 1080p 240hz monitor.
Upgrade your monitor to at least 1440p would be my recommendation.
Upgrading your system further to only play in 1080p doesn’t feel right.

No. My suggestion was to upgrade your monitor and keep the 3080 and 10900 for now. Your CPU/GPU are overkill for 1080p in MSFS.

It’s up to you. If you plan on other games running at high FPS, pick something reasonable for your frame rate. For MSFS, it rarely makes sense to target anything over 60, since this isn’t a competitive first person shooter…
60hz. Anything higher is a waste of money for flight simulation.

Or, heck, go 4K with a 55" monitor… 2 ft from your face, you’re in the cockpit. I’ve been playing that way with a 3080TI / 11700 / 64GB / 2X 1TB SSD’s for over 2 years now.
I don’t run a 10900KF but do run a 3080 FTW with 12400 and between a 55" OLED in 4K and 27" curved LED in 1440p, I’d rather much prefer playing on my monitor.
The 3080 starts to lose steam on other games playing at 4k (not often, but certain scenes cause a little bit of jitter). Then again, my monitor runs at 240hz so that could also be why I prefer my monitor.
Go 1440p and max out all your settings; you’ll be happy you did.
