Showcase Camera Zoom (mouse scroll wheel) Extremely Slow

Not sure which forum to post this in, so I’ll start here. Please move if it needs to be.

When I am in showcase camera and zoom with my mouse scroll wheel, the zooming is incredibly slow. This is the only time in MSFS that it is slow. All other zooms are normal.

I couldn’t find an answer (or even hint). Does anyone have input on this? I’m using a Logitech G502X Plus and using Logitech GHub with it.

It has worked correctly before, but I must have done something to screw it up.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
M.

Hi @UnsnarledMink2 ,
I have a (very old, but still working) Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer. It uses the default drivers that come with Windows - no Microsoft Intellimouse software has been installed - plugged into a USB port on the PC (no external hub).
In Windows Settings | Bluetooth & Devices | Mouse, I have the mouse wheel configured to scroll “multiple lines at a time” - Lines to scroll at a time = 3

Once I assigned the Mouse Wheel Up / Down to the Increase / Decrease Drone Zoom parameters, I experience the same issue, in that the zoom in Showcase (Drone) mode is a lot slower than in External mode.

Since I don’t use the mouse to control the drone camera, I’ve never experienced this, but it does appear to be the default behavior. I have no addons installed, so that rules out an addon somehow affecting the scroll speed.

Does the Logitech G502X Plus have its own software settings that perhaps have changed?

Smothery,
The G502 does have it’s own software, and I like to use that. I haven’t found anything in the software that would be making this slowdown happen.

MSFS is the only program this is happening in, so… I don’t know.

I’m doing some more research.

Hello again,
I was going to post a new inquiry on this, but I see it was only June when I asked the first time, so I’ll just continue here.

I still haven’t been able to fix this.

SmotheryVase, I’ve tried another more basic Logitech mouse and I get the same behavior. I’m stuck.

Surely I’m not the only one with this problem. Anyone else?

Thanks,
M.

For those of you coming in from MS2024 looking to solve this, I figured it out. Go to settings–>controls–>mouse. Scroll down to camera, cockpit camera, and look for zoom cockpit camera and unzoom cockpit camera (should be assigned to mousewheel currently. Click the little gear icon on that line and change the input value. I increased mine to 2.0 and it got much better. Remember to do that for both directions of the scroll wheel.

Hope that helps!

Can confirm the input value is a great way to increase the zoom sensitivity for the drone showcase camera. I set mine to around 1.2 …personal preference.

Thanks for the tip. Are you saying that this is for 2024? I don’t see a gear icon in 2020.

Wasn’t clear on to whom you were intending.
